Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., said during a late-October interview that his family would be "eating Chef Boyardee" when gas prices went up during his childhood and added "that's what families have to do" if they find themselves in financial hardship.

I think Dinty Moore is out of people’s price range these days.

Christ, they have anti-theft measures on Spam out in Hawaii.

If the government didn’t make terrible decisions we wouldn’t have to.

When I was a poor college kid, it was Mac & Cheese. You could get a box at the A&P on Highland for $.49.

I have not eaten Boyardee in 30-35 years, but I used to love the ravioli in my youth.

This thread has me wanting to buy a can. I may have to buy some tomorrow at the store.

Except we didn't find ourselves in hardship.

We were placed into hardship due to the actions of the Biden Administration [whoever they are].

My husband also remembered that ravioli as if it were Sunday dinner. He bought TWO cans to fix us a special dinner.

I let him take the first bite. He asked if the can had expired. There's not enough fresh garden herbs and fresh grated Parmesean Reggiano to make canned pasta taste good.

(Simplest pasta dish: boiled pasta doused with shredded sage leaves in butter just about to be browned, finish with grated cheese.)

Keep the memories of your youth. It's not the same.
