The media was trying to call the real Memo a dud.

Now THAT was a dud.

Therein lies the entire problem. Heads won't roll if they are democrats. They will say like Feinstein, a so called- trusted gang of eight member -that they had a cold and their cold meds made them release something not verified nor voted on.

I will give the dems props for linking and citing actual court documents. That was a nice touch. However, these guys are really opening themselves up for Trump to spike the football in their faces. They outright admitted to relying on the dossier. They didn't deny misleading the FISA court about the funding. They merely claimed it's all copacetic. It's like they want to lose.

The fact that the Dem's memo was leaked just goes to show you that they break the laws all the time like its nothing. The republicans go through the proper steps about releasing info on corruption and people abusing the laws. Then the dems basically go out and do it. Like these people are lawless and need to be in jail all of them.

What I find even funnier is that this memo proves that the dems didn't have a memo until now. They threw a fit because the HIC wouldn't publish a non-existent memo.

Holy shite. That's the argument?

They also say that Carter Page is a KGB agent one second, then the next second they say that the Russians tried to recruit him. Then they attach a court doc as a supporting document that does not prove that Carter Page was a Russian spy or even nearly recruited as one.

Do they not realize their memo will be fact checked?

In Franks v. Delaware (1978), the U.S. Supreme Court held that a court may only void a search warrant if the government “knowingly and intentionally, or with reckless disregard for the truth,” included false information or excluded true information that was or would have been critical to the court’s determination of probable cause. The Nunes memo alleges nothing that would even come close to meeting this standard.

Bull fricking shite. The Nunes memo proved the government knew exactly where the fricking Steele dossier originated and they ADMITTED under oath it was a pack of lies.

What planet is this guy living on?

No fricks were given by NBC that this memo has not yet gone through proper channels and been approved for release.

Someone needs to go to jail for this alone. Why have rules if you aren’t going to enforce them?

And, amazingly, the Nunes memo does not provide a single shred of evidence that any aspect of the Steele dossier is false or inaccurate in any way.

This guy is a lawyer and knows better than this, but obviously he thinks the public will be too stupid to understand what he's doing here.

In our system of law, the person making the accusation must prove it, not the other way around. It is not Nunes' job to prove Trump didn't piss on a bed. It is Steele (and the FBI's job) to prove it did happen. We don't prove negatives in our system of law (same thing in the scientific world).

It's like saying prove God doesn't exist. You can't. It's literally impossible.

You can’t be serious, right?!

quote:

undisputed fact: the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court found probable cause to believe that Carter Page—a member of the Trump campaign’s foreign policy team—was an agent of the Russian government.

This quote says nothing more than “The FISA court granted a surveillance warrant on Carter Page” - yeah that’s an undisputed fact. Point me to where anybody has said that the FISA court didn’t approve the warrant.

You see, just because it’s dressed up with the words “found probable cause”, undoubtedly to fool idiots like yourself into buying it, this “counterargument” isn’t actually an argument at all. What Democrats need to produce, is documented evidence that PROVES the dossier wasn’t the only evidence used to gain the warrant to spy on “Page.”

Nunes memo alleges that McCabe testified under oath that without the dossier, no warrant would’ve been received. Democrats say he didn’t say that. Easiest thing to do would be release the transcript of Mccabes testimony, or at a minimum, that portion of it. Dems don’t want to do that- care to tell us why??

And if the story is that he was already being surveilled, meaning they obviously had evidence to get prior warrants approved, why did they need the dossier at all? Seems they could’ve saved themselves the embarrassment of using such a ridiculously unbelievable document.

On the other hand, if the story is that he wasn’t already being surveilled, then how would the fbi have any other evidence he was acting as a foreign agent ???-unless of course they had been “spying” on him without a warrant..like say, ILLEGALLY allowing “private contractors” (ie:FusionGPS) access to the NSA database to do thousands of “about queries” on “us persons”. Seems like the FISC issued a report about similar abuses last year. What a coincidence.

The rebuttal focuses on four key points having to do with the legal underpinnings of the GOP-produced document:

quote:

That Nunes’ memo fails to demonstrate that the government lacked enough evidence beyond a dossier from former British spy Christopher Steele to obtain a FISA warrant on Page.

- So release the transcripts of the behind closed doors testimony and find out exactly who is lying! I have a funny feeling that the Dems will get a rude awakening.

quote:

That Steele’s expertise on Russia and organized crime would have outweighed any concerns a FISA court would have had about the funding of Steele’s work by partisan actors — funding sources that Steele may not have even known about.

- What the frick does that have to do with anything? Even in the FBI directors direct testimony says it was unvetted and likely not true. Any memo that uses terms like “may” or “likely” are just opinions. Let’s find out the fact she, release the transcripts.

quote:

That Nunes’ memo “provides no credible basis whatsoever” for removing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversees the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller.

- I haven’t heard Nunes or any other Republican member of the HIC says RR needs to be fired. As matter of fact, Nunes was on Brett Breit show yesterday saying he likes RR personally and he wasn’t seeking his head.

quote:

That Nunes’ memo shows that Republicans “are now part and parcel to an organized effort to obstruct” Mueller’s probe.

- Once again, another opinion based upon speculation. If this is what the Dem’s memo focuses on then they are going to be a laughing stock!

Later reports show that, in testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, Page admitted to meeting with Russian officials and to briefing at least one “senior person” on the Trump campaign about those meetings.

They need to put a time line on that. LMAO!!! You can't retroactively use information. "Well we learned later on, so that would have counted." It's what you knew at the moment.

None of this information relies upon the Steele dossier

The News cord-cutting has long since been happening.

It's just must-read to wack-jobs and hipsters.

Papers are dead, CNN is dead...only big Cable TV packages are keeping them alive.

Once people go ala-carte MSM is dead. Such a waste of time listening to that nonsense.

The Dems are the only ones that have yet to figure out that there is NO way out of this for them. Any direction they attempt to go, there are more issues waiting for them that they’ll have to explain.

Trump, Nunes, Goodlatte, Horowitz, etc have executed this beautifully
