7This is the real threat to our country...very dangerous talk. AOC is the next pelosi... she seems to be leading this shite show calling the SCOTUS illegitimate. They want to pack the court. Now Biden is piling on.

on 6/30/22 at 10:31 pm to LRB1967Much as I can't stand Manchin, he is the last old school Kennedy type dem, and as far as I know he hasn't wavered on the statement that he will not, under any circumstances, vote to remove the filibuster rule.
I think he sees what they are trying to do, and actually cares about the America he grew up in, even if he loves to bring the pork home to WV, he doesn't want to destroy the whole system. Hell, he is probably better than some of the RINOs in that regard.

on 6/30/22 at 11:00 pm to bogeyproNot going to Pack the court, but if they continue along this path, I expect the discussions within California leaving the US to pick up steam, GOP would probably say good riddance like most of this board, but Washington and Oregon would definitely go with them and possibly Hawaii, Alaska and Arizona as well. Hence, the dollar would be completely worthless and this would like lead a bunch of east coast states leaving as well so we would have the California Republic on the West Coast and the East Coast confederation on the east coast which would be NY, NJ, Mass, Connecticut Rhode Island Maine for sure. Florida and Texas may want to just be their own countries too, which will leave nothing but South and Middle of the County.
There will be some security agreement with the army but the days of unlimited black budgets etc will be over, and likely some trade agreements but each state will have to likely live off its on taxes so the poor states will become third world like Mexico. overall probably about 40% of the wealth in the US will simply be eliminated.
But you can have slavery if you want too, no one will give a shite because most of the South will become politically and economically irrelevant.
