But yeah corruption shouldn’t have a party. I’m sure both parties fund shite people don’t really like

No shite. Oddly, the Federal emergency MA claimed to be out of money in September when Helene came through. But they found a bit of money in December....
Oddly government has never borrowed any social security funds for other projects. But let me guess you have a defense for that also?

Oh, NOW there are rules. The Biden administration used money allocated in agencies for specific purposes and sent it elsewhere for their own political agenda. How many different agencies were used to fund illegal immigration? DHS, HHS, State, USAID, FEMA?

Congress should pass a law that each department has to go before their respective committee every quarter and explain each expenditure from their department. This should also be made public information.

NIH, this is why it's important to post the actual perspective.
Sorry buddy, I think you're the one who lacks perspective here. You claim to be for spending cuts, but when waste and fraud is found you down play it as a "rounding error". It won't, by itself, solve our budget issues. But you've got to build a baseline of what is actually necessary spending before you can really do that. You want to know how you get people on board with actually balancing the budget, whether through taxes, cuts, or both? You restore trust in the institutions that are utilizing those tax dollars. And to do that, you have to cut as much waste and fraud as possible and make it as loud and transparent as possible.
quote:
Strengthen and modernize our military, making it, without question, the strongest and most powerful in the world
Where does that say no spending cuts? Where does it say they don't want to find waste fraud and abuse within the defense budget?
quote:
Fight for and protect social security and medicare with no cuts, including no changes to the retirement age
Where does that say they don't want to find waste fraud and abuse within SS and Medicare?
Like I said, no one is saying stop at the $40 billion. But like another poster said, we're not going to find a $3 Trillion dollar bill laying around either. We've got to eat this elephant one bite at a time.

He shouldn't give them any ideas. Half of the country is completely fine with the government shutting down.

No you read it right, thorn in Orange

We could cut all non-defense spending to $0, cut defense spending in half, and account for the $236B in wasteful spending found (which gives a double bonus as much of this was included in the non-defense spending, so it's counted twice largely, but it also accounts for the Medicare/Medicaid/SS waste) and it would cut 1.5T or so in spending.
We're still $200B in the hole, and that's not including the debt expansion due to interest rates rising.

None of that excuses $40b in fraud

The purpose DOGE is to free up funds for Musk’s tax breaks and contracts. The little people are sacrificed so the wealthiest man can get richer. Making America Gullible Always

No shite. That's all of our desires. I've already fired off a few red rocket emails to my congressman. Hold these worthless turds' feet to the fire*.
*In my congressman's case, Brian Mast, this doesn't apply.

Nah, I have at least two brain cells to rub together so I'm fine figuring this one out myself.
Face it, either you accept that it's lawfare (virtue signaling to the progressive base) or your original take on the matter is incorrect because DOGE is doing more than just virtue signaling.

Just an example dumbass. Point is the money is going somewhere where it shouldn't be. Why not put that money where it's actually useful to the American people?
"It's only tens of billions of dollars, what good will that do?"

I bet when a $400 Billion dollar congressional spending cut occurs, it would be lauded by SFP but finding $40 billion dollars a year in WF&A is a nothingburger, not realizing they are exactly the same thing.
