Decipher this admin's weird obsession with " every American who wants to " mantra, please.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has promised they will get every US citizen who wants to leave out of Afghanistan regardless of the August 31 withdrawal deadline.

There have been 4,500 taken out of the country already but another 1,500 Americans remain in Afghanistan.

The state department said around 500 are actively looking to leave while the other 1,000 have other considerations like extended family who may not be able to leave.

The situation has become increasingly dangerous with the crowds gathered around the airport and the Taliban becoming more assertive in stopping Afghans and foreign nationals from accessing it.

Secretary Blinken has also said there was a “very real” possibility of an ISIS-K attack.

They simply cannot stop from saying this phrase, or nearly worded ones like it, over and over again. What gives ? Do we have a bunch of Bowe Bergdahl types over there who WANT to stay ? Is this some sort of preemptive CYA for when they don't get everyone, so they can just claim " Oh, x wanted to stay, so we left them " ?

It leaves them an out is the off-the-cuff first thought.

When Americans are abandoned the Filth will say they must not have wanted to get out at BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
They are going to blame them for their own choice not to get to the Airport.

It really does come off sounding like this is being written with the aid of some high priced lawyers. The memo clearly has gone out, across the admin, to include that phrase.

What ever happened to leave no one behind ???

Just freaking cringe.

Curious, indeed....

Blinken now blaming Americans who don’t get evacuated. Ignored guidance not to go, some may not want to leave. Unbelievable

Has anyone asked how they are determining the desires of Americans there, when they are telling them not to call the state dept and to await further instructions on when to get to the airport?

They're nothing more than catchphrases. Circle back. Clear-eyed. Leaning in.

That's all Democrats have to say while they terrorize our country.

Any American who isn’t rescued just didn’t want to leave hard enough.

Those that dont subject themselves to extreme harrassment, beatings and possible execution through a gauntlet of checkpoints must not really want it bad enough.

I've noticed it too, and agree that it's so they have some bullshite narrative already set up when they claim that people who get horribly killed by the Taliban didn't really want to leave.

Yep, they and everyone else knows their robotic voting base are the only ones that will believe it.

That’s all they care about

Kind of like playing high school sports.

When the other team was picking us apart and the coach had no answer on how to stop their offensive he would yell at us for not wanting it badly enough.

So, Americans who have extended family are going to stay but yet Afghanis who come here with no papers can bring cousins and their cousins, a huge extended family.

Doesn't seem right.

It’s subjective. So they can make it fit their narrative later.

“We got everyone out who wanted out”. It’s pretty convenient that they will also be the ones who define what it means to “want out”.

"For those of you brave enough to take the field in the second half, I'll now guide you through taking the arse kicking as gracefully as possible..."

Overheard through the walls at a MPSAA football contest circa 1989.
