quote:So, it was a false assertion. The linked article says nothing about Gov. Abbott "considering" this asinine idea. Some yahoo from Frisco has filed a bill. A different yahoo filed the same bill last session, and it never even got a hearing in Committee.
Governor Abbott is already considering making Austin a district run by the State rather than a city.quote:LINK
Link?
Because that is the dumbest fricking thing I have heard in a while.
First yahoo.
Current yahoo.

Sounds like compelled speech to me.

I would honestly choose "His Majesty" as the name of my choice.

Reason 4,928,103,788,925 why Dallas and Austin should be nuked

I have used the term "hey you" for a long time and do not intend to get less inclusive

Honest question. Suppose those of us here who think the pronoun business is stupid, let's say we agreed to use them.
How many of you know what the damn pronouns are? Are we supposed to memorize whatever each individual tells us? Hell, I can't remember the names of people I see all the time.

I guess you can remember one person who wants "she" rather than "he," but what about the ones that want sometimes-singular and sometimes-plural or the ones who constantly change their minds about what pronouns they want to use. What about the ones who insist on made-up words like "zhir?" What the actual frick is a "zhir?"

Nope. For the most part, the demographic shift in DFW was a matter of the Republicans leaving Dallas County for the outlying suburbs (which are mostly outside Dallas County).
Don't be stupid just to be disagreeable.
The electorate in Dallas now may include as much as 30% of the electorate of 1994. It doesn't matter who moved in/out, a lot of people did both and now the electorate is inferior to that in 1994.

How long before Texas turns blue from all the illegal aliens, LGBTetc freaks and political, corporate woke BS?
24 - red state
26 - purple state
28 - purple state
30 - purple state
32 - light blue state
34 - light blue state
36 - blue state
What's happening in Texas right now is exactly what happened to California and Colorado. Demographic changes and huge liberal migration to its cities.
Compare Texas right now to 2000 and notice the trends. It won't be a "red state" for long. A woke, leftist loon like Beto O'Rourke just got 44% of the vote in the governor race AFTER he was a proven loser in his previous bids for Senate and President.
A candidate like that wouldn't have sniffed 30% 20 years ago.

It's not about THEIR equality or social acceptance. It's about OUR obedience.

Truth.
Forcing people to use made up names to describe a made up gender is something no sane human should support.

Dallas was a city filled with fart sniffers back in the 70s. Its gotten worse, if at all possible.

It’s time to make a mockery of this. Pronouns for everybody.

EVERYBODY should adopt a ridiculous pronoun and change it weekly.

Had a new coworker take the last two min of an intro call to point out that he goes by they/them and as long as we make an effort he won't be offended
I IMd another colleague on the grouo
call,'they must be joking?" He responded "whose 'they'?"
And I replied " you should probably update your resume"

When I started working for the City of Dallas in 94 it was a very conservative city. Clean streets with smokin hot women everywhere. I was there last about a year ago and it is a shell of itself.
