The data jumped around last night towards the end of the reporting period.

But how many cases have been given out? In Louisiana as of Friday only 20% tested positive.
I think this is damn important. No one gives us a total tested vs positive results.
Diamond Princess was 20%. Louisiana is at 23% positive now.

I transitioned my tracking from Google Sheets to Excel, which is why the formatting has changed slightly.
I also added a couple of new graphs around deaths.
Take a look at the logarithmic graph of new cases to deaths. You can more easily see the increase in the growth of the fatalities vs the growth of cases.
NOTE: Updated as of 10 AM CST, These are NOT final numbers for the day. I will update throughout the day
NOTE: Until the end of the day the growth rate numbers for the day are NOT correct.

Nerd,
Your right that my numbers don't line up exactly to what the worldometer site shows, the reason lies in the timing of the numbers.
I just go onto the site multiple times a day and record the numbers as they are that minute. If they go up or down 5 minutes later, that isn't reflected in my numbers.
HOWEVER, Overtime that doesn't matter, as any discrepancy in the numbers is automatically corrected with the next sampling. It all works out over time.

Is there a way you can add in how many tests have been done? State and private contractor?

Morgus, you are right it has gone down for the last three days; however, earlier in the month it had gone down for 7 days in a row before it took the big jump on the 17th.
It's too early today to draw any conclusions for the day. The big updates don't really start coming in until late afternoon.

Kplctv has the counter for Louisiana. Private and state tests...
I looked at other states and didn't really see those. I've been looking all morning as it would give perspective. Especially if you are only testing the highest probable cases and still o my returning 20%.
That would tamper down the freaking out.
This morning the former CDC director said they are returning like 96% negative tests as it's been expanded. That's pretty damn good.

Isn’t this the same time tests were ramped up?? Didn’t we all expect this number of active cases to spike starting early-mid last week?
Plus yesterday’s morning numbers were much higher than today. Like I said, today is off to a good start

So without a plentiful supply of test kits fewer people could get tested. Naturally, without test results the number of confirmed cases HAD to go down.
Then test kits started being supplied in bulk around the country so there was a corresponding big increase in new confirmed cases.
That initial rush of new confirmed cases appears to be slowing down now.
