The Crusades achieved next to nothing outside of the first one and nearly bankrupted Europe so I don’t know what Wikipedia article you learned history from but it isn’t accurate. They besieged Constantinople during the 4th crusade nearly destroying it.

If so, that had little to nothing to do with religion. Catholic France also allied with the Ottomans against the Habsburgs.
Martin Luther condemned Muslims (Turks), so there was no love for Islam from his side, at least.
