Explain how the hysterical hand-wringing is not our fault. It shouldn’t be difficult to do if that’s your position.

We (well, our media at least) are the ones pretending like Russia is going to invade. They aren’t, and they never were. We did play onto their hands by reacting with histrionics though.

Every single entity involved agrees on this point, except the United States. EU, NATO, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, individual European allies, everyone. All of them say that our press and our administration is overreacting and making the situation worse. Every single one.

I wonder why that is?

How do you explain the list of demands Russia is asking for? Might be kinda silly for them to do all of that if they have no intention of doing anything.

I interpret it to be a list of demands they are asking for.

Or they accurately predicted how we would react and used it to their advantage. It’s called leverage, and yes, it is a bluff. Russia’s main diplomatic strength is its ability to manipulate the US media into a frenzy that causes our stupid politicians to make mistakes.

I’ll also pose this question again for you since you already responded to the prior post:

Untwist your knickers, Polly.

My point here is that when you forward this to anybody needing convincing, “RT” will be the first thing they dismiss.

So I think you and I are in agreement that we should just ignore Russia’s demands.

Yes, along with everything they say concerning Ukraine. It is not our problem.

Why don’t you ask your political elites why they removed all the sanctions on Russia and blocked additional sanctions, only a few weeks ago, if they are so concerned about Russian activity and imperialism.

I love how you just ignore that Biden and this administration has acted more in support of Russia than you wish Trump ever did.

Haven't they already invaded Ukraine and Georgia twice?

My guess is they will get Balarus to start something.
Putin needs a war, his popularity is dropping.

The old.., I supported Biden but now I realize how much an idiot that makes me so I’ll just let him swing in the wind.

Anti trumpers can say what they want but it’s highly unlikely the Russians would be playing this game with Trump

They annexed Crimea in 2014, and their war with Georgia was in 2008. How far back are we going to go over the semantics? I guess Russia has invaded both nations several times over their histories.

In this current situation, Russia was never once going to do anything other that annex Donetsk and Luhansk in the same manner as Crimea. And that is absolutely none of our business. They were never, ever going to launch a general invasion of Ukraine or a general war in Central Europe/the Balkans.

Belarus isn't capable of doing anything at all.

No he doesn't. All he needs is an "enemy" acting irrationally and using hysterical/inflammatory language that he can use to galvanize Russian public opinion. You know, just like every single time Russia acts out. And just like every other time, we (our media) play right into it.

You really need to look into how much this administration has helped Russia.

Trump placed sanctions on any companies that would help Russia build the Nordstream 2 pipeline into the EU. They saw it as a security threat with Germany and other EU nations becoming so intrinsically tied to Russian oil and gas.

They were correct.

Biden rescinded those sanctions in May 2021 and went so far as to block additional sanctions against Russia only a few weeks ago.

And you have posters on here, like Decatur, trying to act like Biden is tough on Russia.

It’s hilarious.

Seriously, at this point, it is more likely that Biden helps Russia invade Ukraine than work against it.

Other than the cities like Split and Zagreb, I recommend hitting one of the Aegaean islands or Dubrovnik as well. Dubrovnik was a seasonal tourist trap when Game of Thrones was still filming there, but that has calmed down some in the last couple of years.
