It won't break Anheuser-Busch, but it will have sent a message. How many millions of dollars have been lost due to this ill-advised ad campaign?

Guess it'll have to go exclusively to all the Tranny Annies out there. Good luck with that, AB.

Seems like the traditional price point of Bud Light was as much a part of its "brand" as anything.

This was discussed in a previous thread, as the Maris family distributor in Florida got into a major pissing match with AB because AB would “suggest” a price and the Maris family would add a few cents onto it just because.
When AB threatened to yank their distributorship, it went to court and it was pointed out that AB was price fixing by doing this and that, if it went to trial, AB was up shite creek.

Is there NOTHING you won’t make the wrong call on?
If I didn’t know better I’d think you were a wannabe Gaucho troll. But I’ve read too many of your shitty takes to be mistaken.

That's a little different than my point, though. Mine was that AB has a number of more "budget" brands (like Busch and Natural Light), as do other competing companies, that are specifically targeted to be such, while Bud Light is specifically targeted from a price-point to compete with its competitors' corresponding "main" brands (namely Miller Lite and Coors Light).
If it all now starts selling at the price point of the "budget" brands, it just basically becomes another budget brand.
So, what's going to be AB's "main" light beer now?

Damn. I'll drink it for that.

Piss water is dirt cheap..still gonna be hard to sell.
Just came back from food lion, their idea of a sale is a case of bud light for $20. No one buying it there either.

I believe the asterisk means the items is going away. A .97 just means clearance price. I'd assume they are just trying to flush the inventory before it expires. I believe, based on what I think is the original source of the photo, this was somewhere in Wisconsin.

AB sponsors an event = they pay money for advertising. People attend said event but refuse to buy AB products

AB prints "born on" dates on their packaging. The date on the packages in the picture are 4-29-23 so the expiration would be 7-29-23. Miller/Coors print the expiration date on their packaging so whatever date you see on a Miller/Coors product is the date it actually expires.
Even in scenarios where product is expired or about to, the stores don't take the hit. The distributor "swaps" them for fresh beer. It's a bad look for a sales rep to bring back expired beer to the warehouse so salesmen will take the expired beer and move it into a higher volume store to sell it there before it makes it back to the warehouse.
Example: Corner store 72 has 4 suitcases of Bud Light that expire on Friday. Bud Light salesman swaps those 4 suitcases with fresh ones, then sells the expiring beer into Buccees.

Bud Light Sales Fall 26% as Transgender Backlash Worsens: Report
The Dylan Mulvaney controversy continues to hurt Bud Light.
Beer Business Daily reported Sunday that Bud LIght’s off-premise sales volume—the amount of beer sold outside of restaurants and bars—was down 26.1% from a year earlier in the week ended April 22, based on scan data.
LOL:
““The shocking deterioration of Bud Light Blue’s market share continued apace through the third week of April — and actually somehow worsened. We’ve never seen such a dramatic shift in national share in such a short period of time,” Beer Business Daily wrote on its website”

Thats great stuff. I haven't seen it but apparently the commercials they are running during the draft is pretty telling on them trying to get people to "forget" and just move on without apologizing...
