Yes. That’s better. But it’s still not an inspiring number.

91% of adults in Britain have had at least one shot

They only make up 40% of hospitalizations. That’s pretty inspiring I would say

apparently he meant 40%, but that is still an outrageous number. if i'm vaccinated i expect 0% chances of being hospitalized.

What are you comorbidities? If you are still a big fatass diabetic smoker after being vaccinated, then your expectations might not be realistic.

Also, mutating variants are actually a thing.

Nothing inspires confidence like the accuracy of a junior high book report.

quote:

LONDON, July 19 (Reuters) - Britain's Chief Scientific Adviser Patrick Vallance said that 60% of people being admitted to hospital with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, correcting an earlier statement he made on Monday.

Vallance earlier said at a news conference with Prime Minister Boris Johnson that 60% of people being admitted to hospital with COVID-19 have had two doses of vaccine.

"Correcting a statistic I gave at the press conference," Vallance said on Twitter. "About 60% of hospitalisations from COVID are not from double vaccinated people, rather 60% of hospitalisations from COVID are currently from unvaccinated people."

(Chief scientific adviser corrects statement to make clear the 60% figure applies to the unvaccinated, not double vaccinated)

Just to play devil’s advocate we are in the same exact we were last July/august. Could it be that covid is just seasonal and the huge drop in cases and deaths was going to happen anyway?

What percentage of the population has received the vaccine?

One of the talking points is "not FDA approved" - the same FDA that is often accused by people like me and those on the right of taking net lives by standing in the way of necessary approvals. Like you said - nobody has the ability to be honest.

It’s going to be approved. It doesn’t matter what the data says. So I wouldn’t die on that hill.

The numbers I have on the other page show 46m got one shot, 36m got two shots.

69.6% of the population (I'm using 66m) got at least one jab, and 54.5% got two.

If these numbers are true... there really is no sense in getting the jab for any reason.

It’s pretty obvious from data elsewhere that the mRNA vaccines are effective and far better than being unvaccinated.

I don’t know what is going on with the UK data- if it’s a function of age, people being more likely to be out and about if vaccinated, or what, but really all you have to do is look at overall hospitalization/death rate before and after mass vaccination (which is a far better cohort analysis).

Deaths no where near what they were a year ago and infections spiking.

That’s a scary but possible explanation.

Ok so what exactly is going on here now?

Yeah its confusing. Meaning 60% are unvaccinated, are the one jab people considered vaccinated?

They're horrible either way, like what is the point.

91% of adults have one jab

9% of adults have zero

The 9% who have zero jabs are making up 60% of the people in the hospital

So 90% vaccination rate isn’t enough to get to herd immunity?

I don’t think you are going to get hers immunity in the sense there will be no cases. But the vaccine does a great job at suppressing death and people in the hospital. Not sure what more is wanted
