Also, someone call Hegseth and tell him to stop calling it the Department of War and start calling it the Department of Military Action using Special Forces, Drones and Airstrikes.

America doesn’t do war.

We have been also fighting a War on Drugs, a War on Poverty, and a War in Illiteracy. I’m looking forward to Seal Team 6 breaking into the presidential palace and assassinating the Generalissimo of Childhood Obesity any day now

Well we actually are fighting a war on drugs now thankfully.

Are you still discussing this within the context of the OP or within the context of a dictionary?

You’re the one that started posting definitions.

Did the op mention warmongerers? No

I’m just making sure we’re staying on the topic of the OP.

This is true only to the extent Congress wants it to be true. Congress could cut off funding tomorrow, but they lack the votes to do it. If anything, the present Congress would—and may well—vote to explicitly authorize military force. Don’t confuse an institutional problem with there simply not being enough votes to carry out a policy initiative you support.

They have been castrated since they last passed a budget in 2004. And accepted the gangof8 so Obama could inform them and control them in intel.

And dimtard sheep will continue to spread the propaganda of their communist overlords.

The scum in the dimtard party seek to destroy our country and you are actively assisting them, why?

It doesn’t matter what our definition of war is. This is a discussion about the congressional definition of war.

Here's a fun experiment for you...

Go back in time, and find the last year that Congress officially declared war.

Congress hasn’t officially declared war since WW2. Since then, we’ve been in Korea, Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq again, and now Iran. Plus numerous other smaller skirmishes. Quit acting like Trump is upending all prior precedent here by not getting a declaration of war from Congress

If you’re using conventional military forces to target military and political targets with deadly force, it’s a war. It might be a small war, a short war, an undeclared war, but it’s still a war.

Well then by that logic during Obummers term we were at "War" with Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Iraq & Libya... All the while still in an Actual by definition war with Afghanistan...

Get used to it.

I think the U.S. has been able to get used to it since 1801 when Thomas Jefferson attacked the Barbary pirates without out Congressional approval.

He was such a fascist! How will the Constitution survive, oh wait it's done just fine
