It takes a moral idiot, with logical deprivation included, to not support a surgical strike that takes out the most dangerous group of death-cult inbreds the world has ever seen - especially when their entire reason for existence is to produce an earth-ending holocaust so they can have their x-virgins in 'heaven'
The ploy is to mimimize the realities of the intent and potential threats. Just because it has taken 47 years to get to this place, many accept that as a permanent status. By not accepting the potential for Iran to bring their stated goal of “DEATH TO AMERICA, THE GREAT SATAN”, the left can muddy the water of analysis.
The offer of “lifetime” supply of energy grade nuclear material was rejected. Thus, PROVING, Iran’s intent. Islam’s Taqiyya, basically lying to protect their real objectives, seems to work on some who want to believe.
Just as illegal migrants are now viewed as worthy of sympathy and support, rather than lawbreakers, many want to resist the application of our laws. The shell game started when this administration stated the intent to deport the “ worst of the worst”. Duh, seems obvious based on the safety of American citizens. But, enforce the rule of law, please.

Congress is officially castrated now when it comes to war

Did Trump murder 30,000 civilian protestors?

Obama dropped over 26,000 bombs in one year...

Why do you people keep saying we are at war?
Because we are at war with Iran.
Congress has the power to stop it, but they chose not to. I don’t see how this “castrates” congress. And nothing has changed since the War Powers Act passed. The President has always had the constitutional power to start wars. The WRA put some guiderails around it; the president must inform congress within two days, and he must cease operations within 60 days if congress does not approve. Everything is being done by the book. I don’t see cause for the OP to whine.

Unconstitutional wars initiated by executive decree is the new norm.
The Supreme Court has refused to call the War Powers Act unconstitutional for decades.
It’s not unconstitutional.

What do you think the authors of the constitution meant when they called it war?
And what distinction do you think they were making when they changed the phrasing from “make war” to “declare war”?

Get used to it.
The constitution is limp bone hanging out of the trunk these days
Ignorance is a terrible thing.... your concerns are noted, but see below.
Also, notifying ALL of Congress would ensure the information is leaked which would put troops in a huge disadvantage.
quote:
The law you're referring to is the War Powers Resolution (also commonly called the War Powers Act), passed in 1973 over President Richard Nixon's veto. This federal law (codified at 50 U.S.C. §§ 1541–1548) was enacted in response to the Vietnam War to reassert Congress's constitutional role in committing U.S. forces to armed conflict, while acknowledging the president's authority as Commander-in-Chief.Key provisions include:The president must consult with Congress "in every possible instance" before introducing U.S. Armed Forces into hostilities or situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is indicated.
The president must notify Congress in writing within 48 hours of introducing U.S. forces into hostilities (or situations with imminent hostilities) without a prior declaration of war or specific statutory authorization.
The use of U.S. forces in such situations must end within 60 days after the notification (or when it was required) unless Congress:Declares war,
Enacts specific statutory authorization (e.g., an Authorization for Use of Military Force or AUMF),
Extends the period by law, or
Is unable to meet due to an attack on the U.S.
The president can extend this by up to an additional 30 days (for a total of 90 days) if they certify in writing that unavoidable military necessity requires it for safe withdrawal.

Probably the same thing every other sane person means when they say the word “war.”

I don’t know. Maybe they wanted the people to have a say in who went to war with. The people have voted to give that power to POTUS.
Will you answer my question now?

The same distinction Pontious Pilate made when he washed his hands and let the Jewish Rulers whack Jesus. Plausible deniability if it all goes bad.

Thanks for showing us how retarded you are. Also, it's constitutional as it has been for the past... forever. You act like this is a 'new thing' that was done. It's not. You're just naive or intentionally stupid.

If I build a suppressor without first paying $0 and getting a tax receipt for $0 after, they’ll throw me in federal prison for 10 years for not getting a receipt that says I payed zero dollars.
You think Trump or anyone in congress or the Supreme Court gives two fricks about the constitution???

Meh, if we were attacked resulting in a large enough loss of American lives, even a majority of Dems would vote for it.
Until then, carry on with these limited military actions that rely heavily on air strikes versus wholesale boots on the ground.
