whoa, comey just basically said that while Trump wasn't under investigation at the time of the assurance it was only because the investigation into the campaign had not advanced far enough to reach Trump yet.

Comey is all over the place. He has said he doesn't know why he was fired. And has also said the president can fire him for any reason or no reason at all
