Apparently Trump believes this as well; just the other day he declared Socialism/Communism a “National Security Threat “.
I’m no scholar, but as I recall the great Socialist revolutions of the last century (Russia and China at the fore) both were accompanied by mass ideological genocide into the hundreds of millions.
But maybe Communists who smile all the time won’t be mean to people who don’t want a tyrannical group of elites running their whole life. Even down to what they think and believe.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions “. I think we are about to experience the very epitome of that.

We're in the bottom portion of the 3rd step.
There are too many sheep to change course on rhetoric alone, they need the downfalls of communism visited on them to remove the veil of "the government is your friend and can give you everything you need" from their eyes. Unfortunately, their needing that takes the rest of us down with them.
The more they elect these idiots and then their policies fail, the sooner we can begin bringing rationality back to society.
