Clinton may have won. He would have probably carried Vermont which put Bush over the top, but all the other states would have stayed the same, but he might have lost New Mexico and lost.

Clinton wasn’t impeached for Whitewater or any affairs it was for lying.

Just like HRC people didn’t trust her. I would never vote for her. It cost her with voter turnout. Trump would have won without anything to do with emails or server.

They didn’t care about the womanizing. What they cared about was trustworthiness

The Clinton affair came out after the 1996 elections.

There were PROVEN affairs AND sexual assault allegations before the 1992 election. Didn't matter. Clinton still won. Why does this all the sudden matter in 2018?

I just don't get why some of you think Trump can not do any wrong. As if he was some high character guy before being elected president.

You still don’t get it.

Trump is absolutely capable of doing wrong. No one is saying he can’t. He was wrong to have affairs and bang sloots. We acknowledge that. We just don’t care much about it. It’s not important enough for us to not vote for him. We decided this long ago.

And no one views him as a high character pure guy before President. Again, we already knew this. He had affairs, he banged sloots, he knocked up a mistress. We have no illusions of his shortcomings as a husband.

Again, we already decided that we don’t care.

If you are referring to the long ago released bush tape, again, it was decided long ago that we don’t care.

Clinton lying is what hurt Gore in 2000. Trump lying or his aides lying is what will hurt him 2020.

My kids get in more trouble for lying than the actual act. That is how most people believe

What hurt gore the most is that having twelve years of presidential power by one party is relatively rare.

interesting. did trump waive attorney client privilege?

Amazing how this is overlooked in their glee. If true themn Cohenshould be disbarred and possibly face criminal charges depending where the recording was made if without consent.

Cohen should absolutely be disbarred. Surreptitiously recording clients is about as unethical as you would think.

In terms of impeachment and legality, it is different. Clinton was not impeached for banging sloots. He was impeached for perjury because he lied under oath in a court proceeding.

In terms of support among his base and independents, it is the same. Clinton supporters knew that he was a womanizer before they elected him president. When it became known that he was still a womanizer after they elected him president, they still didn’t care. Again, they already knew this about him and already decided they didn’t care. Clinton’s popularity soared even when Staingate was made public. SNL even did a skit about how the more news of Bill’s sexual indiscretions became known the more popular he became. He would have won a third term easily if he could have run.

Wait, when did impeachment enter the conversation? Are you saying if trump lies to the court about banging chicks, he should be impeached?

I tend to agree, the base will overlook the flaws. Although I do think #MeToo has changed this for the dems, but we will have to see action beyond franken for confirmation.
