Trump came off as pretty likeable. I think it's funny, because everyone acts like he is this far right guy, when I just look at him as some middle of the road sort of moderate on a lot of issues. I wish he was more to the right and more clear on thee abortion issue, etc. I realize my views may not be in the current zeitgeist of the average American, but that's still the way I see it.

Did he actually say that?

Yeah, it was silly but other than that he did a good job getting his point across with the questions that were obviously geared towards potential headlines

The whole reason he said this is so that the media would jump his shite about it and lay bare how much of a disaster illegal immigration has become under Biden.

I suspect what he meant was that they (almost) finished building the wall in the places where they started and not that they finished the wall across the entire Southern border. Communicating clearly isn't his strong suit.

Appreciate your reasoning but the claim is not close to reality. Is what it is but not exactly a topic that loses votes for him

My wife was calling her all kinds of names I can't repeat here. I thought she had a weird, kind of cold face and was snotty the whole time.

A lie that serves a purpose IMHO.

The opposition will fact check him on that and claim that the Biden Administration cancelled construction on most of the wall.

I think he said that on purpose because this is the only thing that the MSM can jump on him about yet tomorrow we are going to have a immigration disaster on our hands the likes of which we have never seen before in this country. If the MSM picks up on this it opens the door for criticizing Biden.

The entire point of this TownHall by CNN was to distract the public from the bloodbath that is taking place right now at the border. CNN royally blew themselves up so now they can't use the Trump Townhall footage tomorrow so the pressure will move back to the border.

Twitter’s destroying cnn for hosting trump because they only helped him

It’s so clear that cnn’s objective was to make trump look bad and it backfired

Bingo! I'm glad someone else understood why he said that. It was a great land mind he planted.

She kept trying to pigeon hole him on that by only giving credit for the miles of wall that were built in places where there was none already. All he had to do to shut her up was specify that some of the wall was new construction and the rest was reconstruction. Like I said, communicating isn't his strong suite.

They never learn.

Murdoch told Megyn Kelly to take Trump out. She tried and failed, instead solidifying him as a candidate.

To reference Dune, knowing there is a trap is the first step in countering it. And it is often better to spin that trap to your advantage than to pull out and have them attempt to trap you a different way you don’t see.

I said this was going to be a mistake. Was I wrong?

CNN had the perfect setup for their purposes by an unfettered ability to say whatever they wanted, day in and day out, with absolutely no pushback in the moment and no opposition to the wildest of lies a d manipulations. That’s what they were reorganized to be dedicated to when Trump came on the scene.

What a great situation they had created for themselves. Then they bashed themselves over the head by inexplicably gifting Trump an opportunity, in spectacular fashion, to put on record Trump’s responses in opposition. Thereby robbing CNN of the freedom to set the narrative any way they wished. They got so drunk on the thought that Trump was about to be murdered, because as always they cartoonishly overestimate their prowess and cleverness, they stepped right into a trap.

A mistake?? Absolutely. On CNN’s part.

I think it was botched on purpose.

The border is about to be a major issue and the Biden administration stopping all work on the wall will be highlighted if they run with this as an avenue of attack.
