To be fair A LOT of people were REALLY scared in spring 2020. Unless a politician was an epidemiologist, I’m sure they probably genuinely appreciated any perceived expertise they were receiving at the time. Trump, Desantis, Noem, Abott whoever.

I think the bigger key is that Fauci didn't work for DeSantis, and DeSantis was in no position to make the sort of judgments about Fauci/what the CDC was doing that we relied on Trump for.

. 99% of the Trump people attacking DeSantis on COVID right now were praising him in May 2020. Then show your work. Because if Trump gave Fauci the medal of that description, then he also gave same to about 10 or 20 more people at the same time. It was a participation trophy for every main player who had a hand in Warp Speed. That was quite a few people. Does it make sense right from the jump that that many people would receive the award you referenced all at once??

This was said when Trump's "15 days to slow the spread" was less than 15 days old. That is how early it was, Ron is a team player and went to bat for Trump like usual and he paid for it.
