I'm not Pettifogger, but was curious myself so looked it up. He's right. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is recognized as the highest civilian award of the United States, along with its congressional counterpart - the Congressional Gold Medal.

My post is narrowly aimed at reeling in, and correctly so, an intentionally misleading aka wrong characterization of an act by Trump. I tend to disagree that correcting intentionally misleading assertions is makes anyone look other than the person who was doing the misleading.

I appreciate that, but it’s not responsive to my point of inquiry. What I’m waiting to see is info supporting the initial assertion that Trump awarded Fauci that commendation.

Well DJ, as you may or may not notice, I try to make many of my points in a way that avoids insult and condescension - as much as I can. Sometimes that isn’t easy I guess.
Put it to you this way, if I were to use some language patterns common to this board to convey the thoughts you quoted, it would probably go like “What kind of idiot would think that correcting something that’s wrong is “worse” for Trump?”

Given when this praise was given, DeSantis was probably just showing faith in Trump/the Trump administration. Being a team player, and not realizing he needed to worry about the administration lying about Covid.

I gotcha. And sometimes confusing language in a courtroom is the exact goal to shoot for. 
Anyhow, poster should quickly realize by deductive reasoning that those commendations come singularly, I assume one per year for each of the Presidential and Congressional. Not a list of 30 or 40. And either shockingly or not shockingly, haven’t settled on which one yet, there are still posters herein that can’t grasp that the participation trophies given to that long list of people are far from what the original poster stated:
