Is this something different than the "press credentials" that reporters get from whoever they work for? Because those are just something the news outlet prints out and gives to their reporters.
I'm sure the White House does background checks on potential reporters allowed in the press briefings and they have to apply and there's a (hopefully) extensive vetting that happens, but does clearance of that process make it something like a license?
What "due process" does someone need to have in order to have their classified security clearance revoked? Is it more or less rigorous (or the same) than whatever this judge is saying?
If the same or less, then this little piggy squeals B.S. all the way home.
yeah, I am not sure of the details but there is an application process a member of the press has to go through to get a "press pass" or whatever to go on White House grounds. I am sure this involves, at a minimum, a security clearance and a heck to see if the person has actually written on political/White House affairs, etc.
I view it more like a medical or legal license. There is no right to it. But the requirements to get one are spelled out and as long as you meet them you get the license. And once you have it, the government (or a board/or empowered by the government) cannot arbitrarily pull your license - there has to be a reason and the license holder has the ability to respond.

Good point. Judge Kelly's order was issued just after one in the morning. Which one of the rabble was there before then?

When a judge makes a bullshite, activist ruling against a Democrat for obvious political reasons that is devoid of legal merit, I will have the same attitude towards a decision to ignore it that I do in this case.
Of course, that only ever goes one way, so that would never happen.

Sure. Basically a security clearance for a specific area.
But so does the WH chef or the guy who parks the presidential limousines.
You're telling me that they have to have "due process" to be fired and lose their WH pass to get into the kitchen and motor pool?

I hope Trump grants them access to an oversized White House broom closet only. That would satisfy the judge's order.

I am not sure I understand what you are getting at.
I don't know the specifics of how the WH Chef is hired and fired and what that entails.
But, there is a clear boundary within the White House itself. As I mentioned above - a President can allow a Newsmax reporter into the private bedroom for an interview and say "Politico is not allowed because I do nto like their reporting." There is clearly nothing wrong with that. Where it seems likely, but less clear than a bedroom, is who the President allows in the Oval Office, or on AF1 . . .
But, in the White House Press Briefing Room - a place designated for press functions unlike a bedroom or an office - the standards are different. The White House can withdraw a press pass, but they must give a reason, and that reason must comply with Constitutional standards. Jim from Politico has been doing cocaine in the WH bathroom - grounds for removing the press privilege. Ban Gretchen from CNN because the President didn't like her column that criticized him?- most likely impermissible because a President most likely cannot ban a reporter from the press briefing room for no other reason apart from not liking her viewpoint.

Of course, I know about Judge Dugan. Below was the thread I started in December celebrating the fact that she would probably be convicted.
That is different than the issue we were discussing. [I started to explain, but I realize facts don't matter to you at this point.]
