The argument I was making was so narrow but they constantly feel attacked.

I think Trump should not be being prosecuted.

The whole premise of the charges....which are espionage. Is that he showed classified documentation to people without a clearance. Even that wouldn't get him charged with espionage. He could be charged with mishandling classified. Espionage is doing so with the intent to interfere with an operation and the success of that operation. To promote with the intent of aiding the enemies success. Its impossible to prove he did it with intent to harm The United States in a military operation. Now they are saying that they never recovered any classified documents dealing with Iran. Sort of hard to show classified documents to someone with out a clearance if they cant prove you ever had the documents.

Bonds is assuming that they do not have any corroboration simply based on an audio recording. He may be right, but that can't be flat out assumed.

Agreed. Which is why I said “if the tape is to be believed.” Personally, I think Trump was just engaged in some puffery as he is known to do. But the only evidence we have seen now is the tape. So if it is to be believed, nobody actually saw what he was waving around.

And the problem with that is “my client lies” is not the argument you want to give while also facing 37 federal indictments.

I just don’t see it as a good strategy because it will be used against him.

This is what he was charged with, to my understanding.

None of this:

is required for what he is charged

100 percent. Every single politician ever engages in puffery. Trump is being prosecuted for it. That is the real issue here. The fact we are arguing over statutes and semantics is sad. We should ALL be enraged over the prosecution. The left and sadly even some on the right are giddy about it. It’s really sad to me.

Absolutely it is bullshite. However, trump still can’t manage to learn from his mistakes and makes himself an easy target.

It's awesome watching so many people pretend to be experts on "legal issues" that in a sane world should not exist - and didn't up until about 7 years ago.

What was the document he held up? We now find out the “Iran War Plans” weren’t one of the documents for which Trump was “in trouble”. That’s the one that was being reported at first. So they have nothing without the actual document, besides their willingness to lie about Iranian war plans.

Pretty sure this is supposed to be the takeaway here since it does not appear that Trump has been charged for this document.

100% that's all this recording was intended to accommplish.

It's a framing narrative to show that even Trump himself did not believe he could simply declassify documents in his possession without going through a process while president.

The key part of this recording will be his statement "I could've declassified it while I was president, but I didn't" (paraphrasing here)

This will be used to frame the narrative that Trump knew the classified docs in his possession were still classified, and it will prevent his lawyers from using the argument that he declassified them by simply possessing them or declaring them declassified in private.

It's a shame that no attempt was ever made to categorize any of the materials by . . . OH, I DON'T KNOW, A SPECIAL MASTER . . . so all of that is kinda moot.

Government: Give us all the documents you have with classified markings?

Trump: Uh, why?

Government: Because they're special and they belong to us?

Trump: Uh, frick you I'm The President.

Government: Well, there might be some Defense Information in there.

Trump: You got a list?

Government: Uh, no. Give us everything.

Trump: Go frick yourself!

Trump DID try to give the boxes to NARA before leaving the WH. They refused to receive the boxes and left them on the WH steps telling Trump to deal with them. LoL
This whole thing is a frick show without the sex. It's beyond stupid and so obviously nothing more than another failed attempt to "get Trump".

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Saturday that she saw former President Trump show classified documents to people at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

“I watched him show documents to people at Mar-a-Lago on the dining room patio,” Grisham, who served as Trump’s chief spokesperson from July 2019 to April 2020, said in an interview on MSNBC. “So, he has no respect for classified information, never did.”

So an accusation (false?).

Who cares?

That’s not proof.

Stefanie was a confidant to FLOTUS Melania Trump.

If that were true she would have spoken up in her first attention whore grifting book.

Obama's, Clinton's, Biden's, Bush's, can all be on the take of the CCP and that's fine.

But Trump was impeached for what Biden did.

Breaking News: The nuclear codes were stolen from the Pentagon when Trump commandeered the Beast steering wheel. Trump used Russian salad dressing.

Her interview doesn't say, but she may be talking about this story (she says "patio", it refers to the area as the "dining terrace").
