Brian Stelter
@brianstelter
Network TV anchors were "the closest thing that America had to national leaders on 9/11. They were the moral authority for the country on that first day," especially with political leaders in bunkers or otherwise out of sight... LINK

what in the world are you on about? President Bush delivered an address from the Oval Office that very evening. also, there’s this:
Dan McLaughlin
@baseballcrank
No, we had the president & the mayor. In NYC, we couldn't even get two of the three networks because their broadcast antennae were atop Tower One. LINK

You added your take outside the quotes! Also, you shared it. So at some level you liked it and agreed with it. You didn’t offer criticism, so what other deduction is there? Stop playing these stupid games Brian. We all know what you’re doing.

Brian Stelter has bitch-titties and is a complete loser in real life.

on television, he is protected and gets to pretend that his opinion is holier than thou.

but at the end of the day, and when the lights go out ... Brian Stelter has bitch-titties and is a complete loser.

Moral Authorities

They keep saying this but I don't think it means what they think it means. There is nothing moral about the news media, then, or now.

You can always count on journalists to make themselves the real heroes of the story. So brave.

IIRC, didn’t Rudy demand they push back the mayoral election so he could finish the recovery and step away instead of leaving his successor to deal with it?

That’s leadership.

I hardly considered the news anchors back then to be the national leaders, although they were the primary source of info for the country. And funny and sad, that 20 years later, I would expect the current day anchors in similar circumstances to be essentially siding with or explaining away the actions of the terrorists, while somehow taking some opportunity to blame Trump, and discuss guns and race too.

A dickhead and a narcissist.
His own mother has to be borderline close to not even acknowledging his existence.

Lol what moral quandary faced us on 9/11 we needed this guidance on?

That flying jumbo jets into skyscrapers full of thousands of innocent people is frowned upon?

I saw that yesterday and I rolled my eyes. Rudy Giuliani became a hero over night and won Time Magazine's Man of the Year award for what he did in the hours, days, and weeks after the attacks. The media of today conveniently forgets how effective he was because of his close ties to Trump. He and George W. Bush handled the crisis just about as well as two leaders could in that particular situation. There's a reason why his approval rating was at 90% in the weeks following the attacks. He was saying and doing everything we wanted him to.

So, yeah, the article and that quote is stupid. Anyone with any modicum of a memory will remember how effective Bush and Giuliani were in the early days after the attacks.

Media people are the most narcissistic people you’ll ever meet. They think our lives depend on them…

My God.

This guy is divorced from reality.

His sense of self worth is tremendously over inflated.

I hate all reporters and media people with a passion. Any lie for clicks today.

I refuse even to talk to them.

The last member of the media to be a national leader was Paul Revere.
