Any democrat progressives that post here (VOR & Draconian Sanctions, et al...) still want to say that AOC is an outcast radical to the democrat party?

Of course they will say this. Hiding who you are is central to the left's strategy. People like VOR will never admit what they actually believe.

They are frustrated with people like AOC not because they disagree with her (they don't), it's because she's transparent.

Brad Wenstrup tended to Scalise at the shooting scene...

Cincinnati Rep. Brad Wenstrup aided Majority Whip who was shot, witnesses say

A local representative is credited with aiding Majority Whip Steve Scalise at the scene of a shooting Wednesday in Alexandria, Virginia.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) was at the scene — a baseball diamond — and administered aid to Scalise, according to Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), who spoke to reporters Wednesday morning.

Wenstrup is a doctor by trade and has a podiatry practice in Blue Ash. He’s also a U.S. Army Reserve Officer and was a surgeon in Iraq in 2004 and 2005.

Human trafficking: As easy as ordering a pizza
Brad Wenstrup 11:16 a.m. ET June 6, 2017

quote:

U.S. Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Columbia Tusculum, is a doctor and a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

“It’s just as easy as ordering a pizza, to order a person.”

These haunting words, spoken by an undercover Dayton detective, encapsulate a fragment of both the horror and pervasiveness of the human trafficking crisis facing our country in the digital age. “It’s everywhere because of the online environment,” the detective said. “There’s no boundaries or limitations.”

quote:

The statistics are staggering. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has estimated human trafficking generates billions annually in illegal profits around the globe – second only to drug trafficking. As many as 17,500 people may be trafficked into the United States every year, according to the Congressional Research Service, while approximately 100,000 American citizens may be victims of trafficking within the United States.

It’s happening in our backyard: Ohio ranks number five in the nation for the most human trafficking cases. Last year, 375 Ohio trafficking cases were reported from 1,352 calls to the national hotline, according to Polaris, a nonprofit tracking trafficking in America and across the world. These 2016 numbers are nearly four times those reported for 2013.

Children and young people are particularly vulnerable, as perpetrators increasingly manipulate advances in technology to lure their victims. One report cited 13 years old as the most common age in Ohio for youth to become victims of child sex trafficking.

quote:

Today, we face a myriad of challenges, many of which polarize our country strictly along party lines. This issue is different. The protection of our children and all human life is an American priority that transcends politics and serves as a pillar of our national identity. Washington can agree. We the people can agree. No human being should ever have to experience such heinous exploitation. We must stand and act – and we must do it together.

Combatting Human Trafficking
Feb 1, 2016 Issues: Family Values
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.) today released the following statement regarding House passage of International Megan’s Law to Prevent Child Exploitation and Other Sexual Crimes Through Advanced Notification of Traveling Sex Offenders (H.R. 515), and the Trafficking Prevention in Foreign Affairs Contracting Act (H.R. 400). Both are critical pieces of legislation to combat human trafficking.

Congress finally passes anti-human trafficking bill -- 'victims need our help'

quote:

Much later than expected, the House Tuesday (May 19) gave final congressional approval to legislation to expand law enforcement efforts and provide help for victims of human trafficking -- a crime that forces young victims into the sex trade and hard labor with little or no pay.

The House vote was 420-3. All six Louisiana House members voted yes. Earlier, the Senate passed the bill 99-0.

quote:

The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act creates a fund -- financed largely form fines paid by perpetrators of human trafficking, to help victims.

It expands the definition of child abuse to include human trafficking and production of child pornography.

"One of the great American values we share is our strong belief in the inherent worth of each and every human life," said House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Jefferson. "Human trafficking is a direct assault against that core value, and it affects millions of victims who need our help -- including right here in America. No single law alone will put a stop to human trafficking, but the House's passage of this bill, which now goes to the president's desk, is a strong step forward in combatting this abhorrent crime."

"Congress must continue to do everything in our power to combat this scourge and provide protections, and ultimately justice to the victims of human trafficking."

Victims of human trafficking are often young and poor, and forced to work in prostitution or engage in hard labor -- for little or no compensation.

I'm convinced we will soon see the media start to attack Alexandria OcasiohypenCortez. What the media builds up, it always tears down eventually.

Similar here. Dad was State Trooper and mom was a church secretary. I wore Sears Toughskin jeans in the 70s and mom would patch the knees when I tore them. Ate from a garden. Going out to a restaurant was a very rare treat - seems like once every few months on special occasions.

What is it with commies who claim to fight for working class/average people...they always take advantage of their positions of power; in this case because of her new found political “stardom”, she’s going to go yuck it up with the bourgeoisie elite she and her commie ilk claim to despise. These type of actions prove that if she was in a real position of power she would do nothing to help benefit anyone except herself and those she viewed as beneficial to her. What a total piece of shite.

Tiegen and her husband have a cult following and are aggravating AF on Twitter. The love people showed for his Xmas album was nauseating-probably the same people who bashed Starbucks for their Xmas cups. She and AOC would make a perfect pair and I’m sure their conversation would be exhilarating.

So is AOC going to mention to Chrissy at this staged party that her & John Stephens won’t be able to fly at all under the new Green Deal she is proposing? How are they going to be able to get back & forth between N.Y. & L.A.? You mean we have to take a train?

WTF does "internet swoons" mean? This is one of the primary problems with modern journalism. A handful of girls under the age of 25 are the "internet"? Just say what the frick you mean, author. You swooned. Nobody in my family or group of friends even knows who this Teigan person is, much less are going to "swoon" because she invites AOC to watch the Grammys (which nobody I know cares about either). And the same goes for any number of quasi celebrities. 90% of the country DNGAF. In total I'd wager that less than 0.1% of the "internet" would lose a second of sleep if both of these people vanished from the face of the earth.
