Yeah it is brutal. My friends company car is some chinese EV. Works fine for A -> B driving so it makes sense why they're popular there. Thing was a shitbox though

That stuff was expensive back in 2001 pre-9/11.

It was something like 7 francs per liter, which translated to around $15/gal. Not remembering exact prices but one of the professors on the trip with me later had me talk through the costs in class to demonstrate business environment differences between the US and Europe.

Hopefully this drives the final nail in the coffin of GM, Stellantis, and Ford. They’ve been leaches on the American taxpayer for far too long. Let them die and be replaced.

It would have no effect on military readiness.

I don't think there'd be a market for that but I could be wrong I suppose.

I hate that demented old frick as much as the next guy, but he's put the screws to China pretty hard, especially in the microchip sector. He also left all of Trump's tariffs in place.

Not to rain on your parade. You do realize that many GM and Ford parts are made in China?

You’re not raining on my parade. Lots of parts for all kinds of things are manufactured in China. But generally they are American designed and there is American QC in those plants. A car designed and engineered by the Chinese is a whole different ball game. I actually should say reverse engineering because those guys engineer very little. The whole culture is built around lying, cheating and stealing.

A big reason why I have no problem with a Chinese automaker flooding the market with inexpensive vehicles. Ford is charging you $60k for that truck when it's made in Detroit paying assembly line workers $40 an hour, and are excited to keep charging you $60k for it when they start paying Mexicans $4 an hour to make it.

If Ford and Dodge are scared of inexpensive Chinese cars, I have zero sympathy for them. They have plenty of room to lower their prices to compete.

The labor to assemble a car is only about 7% of it's sticker price.

I'm always amazed at all the patriotic types that seemingly hate US industry.

Can we please get China to flood the market with sub 10 grand four wheelers and side by sides?

Thanks

If those clowns plan on selling electric vehicles only into the us they’re going to be in for a rude awakening. That market isn’t going to be as broad as they think it is. Outside of liberal shitholes they will not sell a thing.
