We already likely are.

Although we are given nothing but AI, CGI tech and matte painting simulations, we can easily harness super-magnified solar power from multiple floating platforms.

I have my doubts

And do you protect the solar panels from space junk and meteorites and such from destroying them? How is the power transferred to earth to use?

They can start building lots of things. It’s the finishing that I’ll wait for.

Guarantee this has a military angle too. Like, instead of beaming it all to a receiver station, beam your enemy and it cooks an entire downtown in minutes.

No, no China isn't.

Shouldn't they be finishing off their quantum radar that makes stealth useless before they do this one?

Don't forget their nuclear batteries that they keep bringing up every couple of years.

I find it disturbing how many people here are underestimating China.

Ever work with them? No, you work at a convenience store and believe fantasy crap.

You have no professional standing hot shot.

I am aware of how we are ahead of them. I see you're quick to insult. I'm not sure what the reason is for your emotional reply, but yes. I get how we are technologically ahead in many ways. I also get that they have a LOT of people, and can force their results in ways our government and military operations can not.

We are bottle necked in many ways that they aren't.

Let's be a fast follower. In the meantime we can get our ship building business in order. And we can get our airplane manufacturing in order. And so forth and so on.

It wouldn’t make sense. For one, we have more debris from broken satellites orbiting the earth that would easily hit the panels. Two, we orbit near an enormous asteroid belt which at any point could actually hit the earth.

Regulations hamper the us.

China doesn’t have the technology or engineering to achieve what you are trying to convince everyone concerning your dreams. You invited the insult.

The US and Germany provide the engineering to get where we want them to go.

I’ve worked with them. I’m not impressed. Your fantasy is noted. Why do I have to send engineers to China and Viet Nam to make things work…….you believe crap without the foundation to do so.

I wonder how they would solve the potential issue of unauthorized power draws if someone was able to construct an independent power receiver and tune it to the right frequency.

I doubt it could be tapped just by pirating the frequency. It would probably be aimed at a collector in China.
