And does government or religion make that decision?

In our system of government, the voters vote for their representatives who decide what’s included.

Christians who want to reflect orthodoxy and orthopraxy should be voting for people who will more closely represent their values in their governmental positions.

Even if i agreed with that last bit, which i dont, I dont think its arguable that Trump/MAGA is driving people from the pews in droves,

I'm confused about this statement. You are asserting that "Trump/MAGA is driving people from the pews in droves" or are you saying one can't argue that?

If you are actually asserting that, it seems rather preposterous. I'm curious what you're possibly using as evidence for such a proposition.

Government and religion are 2 very different things

I got that part. What does that have to do with the point Kirk is making? He's saying that in his opinion the modern Democrat party is antithetical to Christian values and to vote for them is to embolden their anti-Christian policies. Religion and govt are two different things, but they definitely intersect, as Kirk astutely points out

First, the question of which Christian edicts should inform Christian government is a common topic among Christian Nationalists and Integralist types, so ok.

And Democrats/Leftists

Second, this started with your declaration about poverty being a necessity in a Christian state, which still doesn't make sense as some absolute.

Because if you argue religion and politics are the same thing, then...religion and politics are the same thing. That's part of Christianity, and you have offered no logical reason why it should be up to man to exclude it from governmental policy. Do you think you know better than God/Jesus?

Gushes out his ignorance without watching the video.
Voting Democrat means you support:

Teaching kids about sexual promiscuity at an early age.
Hiding these teachings from parents.
Encouraging kids at a vulnerable change to proceed with sex change operations.
Supporting unfettered abortion right up to birth and beyond.
Support forcing taxpayers to pay for sex change operations and unfettered abortion.
Believe men can become pregnant
Believe that not all speech should be protected by the first amendment. (specifically Christian and conservative speech).
Believe that the second amendment should be repealed.
Believe the nuclear family is a racist construct
Believe math is racist
Force people to comply with government mandates such as forced vaccinations and lockdowns.

Then Charlie Kirk is simply arguing Democrats hold different values than he does, not that Democrats can't be Christians.

You just summed up every political faction.

I can just ignore whatever you'd use to say it's wrong. That's how curating works.

Half of all Catholic voters last election went for Biden along with about 40% of protestants.

Brilliant strategy to pull voters to Trump. Tell millions of Christians they aren't Christian.

you missed the boat as usual

this thread is not about political science takes on percentages from religious voters

it's about religious takes on percentages of religious voters

Legal immigration is great.

I’m talking about the illegal version that some NGOs with Catholic ties are aiding bigly.

Yes, showing why it's based in individual subjective desires and not the Bible/religion

I'm not the one who tried to argue these are the same thing.

Again, I can ignore whatever would be used to say it's wrong.

I don't have to give you specifics, because I can curate however and whenever I'd like.

Why curation doesn't work.

So, environmentalists should not be impacting government because they might not be following environmental ideals but trying to just get their own political way.

Got it.

Well the declining numbers are there for anyone to read and I know correlation is not causation but i do believe Trump/MAGA is a large part of the issue.

Like it or not by the evangelicals adopting Trump he is seen as a figurehead of the religion and he is an absolutely terrible person by so many metrics in ways that run so counter to Jesus. It makes the while thing come off as cultish and hypocritical.
