Someone recently made the observation that his family could have almost certainly got a dramatically smaller sentence on a plea deal, but chose to go to trial presumably to continue fundraising even though they weren’t paying for his defense.
So he’ll rot in prison until he’s in his 50s for no other reason than his parents wanting more money.
