Notice I didn't say for lying. I said for echoing propaganda from the enemy we are at war with. Aiding the enemy is the actual definition of treason and echoing their propaganda is aiding an enemy during a time of war, or military conflict, whatever you want to call it.

So your standard is repeating harmful falsehoods during a national crisis equals treason? Then people knowingly spreading lies about election fraud to undermine a lawful U.S. election would be far closer to treason than a newsroom reporting conflicting wartime claims. One attacks the foundation of our own democracy directly. You don’t get to reserve “treason” only for stories you dislike while excusing coordinated lies aimed at overturning the will of American voters. Either use one standard or stop throwing the word around.

This is true. However, I find it very interesting (and somewhat disturbing) that they are so willing to believe the Iranian government without doing any kind of fact-checking into their claims. When our government says something they are (rightly) skeptical, but when a foreign power puts out information it's like they lose all journalistic integrity and accept what they have to say at face value. What's worse? They tend to only do this when a certain party is ensconced in the White House.

Comrade Goldmill, it isnt journalism to lie. It's fine to say Iran claims or CENTCOM claims. Not to report said claims as truth without verification.

The lurch to claim Iran is "winning" by Western media outlets is inexplicable.
They are dumb enough to think they are exposing some failure of Trump, but in reality the claims disparage the competence of the US Navy. And if all of these ships evaded the blockade, where are they now?

If you’d pay attention, they usually preface reporting coming out of Iran this way. Or at least what I watch on CNN they do this.
