CDC related: I met someone at a function who is married to a CDC employee.

Says that the CDC headquarters is still empty. Everyone is still working from home. Recently he had to go to HQ in Atlanta for some reason. Only himself and another person were there. It seems hard to believe but it may be true.
If it is true, God help our sanity if we have another pandemic with an actual threat of a 10%+ mortality rate. We would be on lockdown for 5 years.

I have a neighbor that works at the CDC. He worked from home 4 out of 5 days prior to COVID. They haven't been going to the office for a decade or more. All the people I know that work for the government, do it from home

Which is why 2/3rds of government employees could be cut without a decrease in "service".

I should have given up on the show right then and there. No cure. No hope. Just eternal struggle. Took me 7 more seasons to get to that understanding.

My friends brother has a masters degree in biology and works for the CDC.
Still working from home and claims to only do two hours of work a day.

Can't speak for the CDC, but I know a few folks who work for fed agencies. My favorite is a USDA research station. Bush-hog drivers have been paid every week since the start of covid, and have yet to put their arse in a tractor seat.

When Glen and Abe got it was when I quit. I reached my nihilism limit.

LOL
They have over 12,000 employees between the 2 campuses (Clifton and (Chamblee) There's zero chance
that this is correct.
The CDC is a client of mine and I was there about a month ago and while many employees still work from home there were still people at the Clifton Rd HQ.
Which building did he go to? The visitors ctr? (Harkin Ctr)

How in the hell do they get lab work done virtually?

You could also unload a lot of excess office space as well. I've been working from home since mid-March 2020 and haven't had much of a need to go into an office outside of network issues (VPN's aren't that good).
We were told to plan "partial return" to the office on May 1 (that being one day a week). But now that may be on hold until October 1. Yet we can't get a straight story from anyone.
