A company brought Newsweek magazine and only had to pay $1 to buy them. That company was a very conservative one in it's hay day when liberals couldn't compete they would just buy you. Decades later their platforms were just a propaganda machined.
The sold for $1 becuase the buying company had to pay off the million dollar debt Newsweek and a crude just because they refused to change their losing idealogy. This means they would rather run a company into the ground then change their ideology. That's antithetical to a business.
To think by not buy there product will not be enough. Complaing to thier regulatory agencies will serve our cause better.

Except ... I'm probably older than you.
Except ... this is not 1961 or 2010 (Re: Newsweek changing hands.)
Except ... with regard to Paramount/CBS, network news shows are dying. We have 100s of other options and people are growing tired of being lied-to, especially younger people brought-up to have choices from where they pull their news.
Except ... CBS News execs exposed themselves, and their talent, during this election cycle, like never before. That debate backfired on them and their ratings dropped like a rock. 60 Minutes' ratings are also in the tank and they're part of the news division.
Except ... Paramount Global is in the tank. They've gone from a market value of $30 billion when Biden took office, down to $8 billion as of this past Friday. They're literally dying and Shari Redstone is looking to dump them now. And a Conservative billionaire vowing to make them a true news company again, is about to buy them.
Now, he's a businessman not an activist and he sees the writing on the wall.
Quit watching them, tank their stock even more, and there will be a change.

They're funded by ratings.
Big Pharma doesn't contract a set price per spot on the networks. The model changed years ago.
CBS is funded by rarings. If a show draws 200k viewers they pay one thing per spot. If a show draws a million viewers they pay x5 more and so on.
Big Pharma has to answer to shareholders and they're not going to pay 1 million cost per mille dollars for a show drawing 200k viewers. They can't.
There's, on average, 20 minutes of commercials for every 60 minutes of air time ... that's the industry standard unless there's breaking news. Fox News Primetime runs 21:60, others run 18:60 or 19:60 ... I think I read one time that 60 Minutes runs 16:60 but still, they're losing money and their operations are massive compared to their streaming competitors.
Not watching will kill them.
It's the same tactic the left has used for years ... except the left organizes boycotts and threatens advertisers.

Didn’t even realize 60 minutes was on the air anymore, until I saw Trump call them out. Mainstream news is dead. Nobody cares about that anymore. Trump goes on Rogan and gets 40 million hits.

All you did was prove my point these people, if you wanna refer them to people. I like to stay in the truth by calling then evil because they have betrayed our country more than any politician by picking a side in our politics.
To think a billionaire, it's gonna rescue the American media.
As the old saying goes, I got some swamp land to sell you.
Yes, we should stay in the course don't pay for crap so they can continue to make more of it.
However we all must go beyond the purse we need to get involved.
