LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond replied to a tweet on Tuesday about cornerback Mansoor Delane being a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award with a simple message:

Raymond, an LSU alum who is on his third coaching stint with the Tigers, is the architect of DBU.

Former head coach Brian Kelly made the mistake of not retaining Raymond when he first took over in 2021, but brought him back to Baton Rouge in 2024.

Keeping Raymond on staff should be one of Lake Kiffin's top priorities moving forward.

Everyone keeps saying Raymond was the architect of DBU, while he is elite and not arguing that, he isn’t the architect. That title belongs to Ron Cooper.

You guys have very short memories. Raymond had gotten extremely lazy in his later years and wasn't putting in the work. Kelly fired him and he goes to Florida. Florida Napier saw how lazy he was and got rid of him. When he came back to Lsu, he knew he better start working hard again. He was also asking for Crzy money to Kelly while still be lazy.

2021? None of those recruits were even decent. The best was sage ryan who was hot garbage. What are you even talking about
