It’s amazing how dumb this board is about election law and the difference between state and federal politicians.

How many times do you people need to be told that Senators and Congressmen cannot be recalled?

Recall of a federal official is illegal, unconstitutional and any statuary legislation on the federal or state level that provides for a recall of federal elected officials would be struck down in court.

The US Supreme Court is on record saying this in Burton v United States and they say nothing about a recall...

quote:

The seat into which he was originally inducted as a Senator from Kansas could only become vacant by his death, or by expiration of his term of office, or by some direct action on the part of the Senate in the exercise of its constitutional powers.33

It’s pretty clear how SCOTUS would respond to federal/state legislation that provides for a recall against a federal politician.

Struck down in a landslide.

This is a congressional research document that lays out the history of recalls. LINK

It's clear that there is nothing in the constitution that provides for and authorizes a mechanism to engineer a recall of federal elected officials.

Convince the senate to expel Cassidy with a two thirds vote.

Or...

Wait until 2026 to vote for a primary challenger running against Cassidy.

Good luck with either option you choose.

Bill Cassidy is displaying the same amount of pragmatism and good political instincts that haters of David Vitter displayed in 2015 and chose to put the the third worst Governor in Louisiana history, John Bel Edwards, in the Governor's mansion.

Vote him out in 2026.....although my theory is he retires before he gets his arse handed to him by JBE.

OH holy shite. I didn't realize that was you, Sentrius. You changed your avatar. Threw me for a second.

I guess this is a perfect time to bring up the fact that the LAGOP thought it was a good idea to run a known philandering diaper fetishist. Obviously you haven't figured out what just wasn't electable about him then. If I'd have realized it was you're idiot arse I was replying to, I'd certainly had chosen to ridicule for the idiot you truly are instead.

Not only did you have no clue that senators and congressmen cannot be recalled, you also have no clue that the LA GOP is structurally by design one of the weakest party organizations in the country.

If the LA GOP really had the power you think they do, they would've made sure that Jay Dardenne and Scott Angelle never goes scorched earth on Vitter like they did.

You're about as politically ignorant as it gets.

Oh I understood.

Smart conservatives like me that see the big picture and understand executive power just didn't give a frick and knew JBE was a leftist control freak that had no business being anywhere near the Governor's mansion.

Says the guy who kept on bleating about how JBE's not so bad and chose to put the political twin of Edwin Edwards in the Governor's mansion and is proud of it.

Well you could dead the hooker service that Vitter used or set him up with a young boy to get him expelled from the senate . Oh wait what was I thinking, they would use the congressional fund to do another payoff and give him a good ole boy slap on the back . How about getting AOC to insist he be removed as well , that will surely work . The Louisiana electorate is as bad as 75% of other states in picking the worst people . Maybe because 75% of the people are the worst voters

The left has made it clear old laws and court cases don’t actually matter or exist so we can ignore that and do what we want.

This, we just declare Louisiana a sanctuary recall state and out his arse. If we don't get our way, just burn down our cities and beat up people at diners and in the street that don't raise their hands in agreement. If that doesn't work, storm the.... wait....

Well,ok, so we can’t recall him. Doesn’t said senator have to be a resident of the state that he/she/Shem represents? If cAssidy does not have a home in our great state can he legally be our senator?
