Natural gas is the only way Texans get power? Please be specific.

Why don’t you put something forth on your end? Are you going to add anything informational other than your specific feelings? Do you have any counter points to what I’ve stated? Or are you just going to hide behind your little Pi litigator twat depo questions?

Yeah. Until today you couldn’t get oil haulers out to wells to pick up oil. If your tanks are full you’re shut in and gas doesn’t flow. About 4mm bbls are offline pushing oil over $60. That means all that associated gas is shut in. Additionally a bunch of midstream cos are still shut in at their processing plants are still dealing with issues from the freeze. That’s why Nat gas is still trading at ridiculous rates.

methanol for nat gas systems is a large chunk of our business, we are one of the largest methanol distributors in the US. couple of points to make:

1. it routinely gets cold in north and west texas, so this event is rough but not that out of the ordinary
2. we have been topping off methanol tanks in preparation for this weather event for ten days
3. I am not aware of any WT or NM gas plants that are down but I will call some of my techs and get a status report
4. this wellhead freezing you reference is new to me. pipelines freeze, and we use methanol to prevent that. a NG wellhead typically doesnt freeze unless it is from the pressure drop right after the choke, velocity usually keeps the WH flowing
5. if a gas plant is down from cold it would be mechanical, either compression or generator failure. a freezing problem and they just crank up the methanol.
6. associated gas from an oil well is usually all piped out, oil haulers are for oil wells that produce to an oil tank. there are oil well that produce to a tank and have a small pipeline for gas but that is not enough gas to make a dent in supplies. most of that associated gas is used as field fuel gas for operations.
7. oil haulers being grounded is a problem but most of our customers in WT, NM and SOTEX pumped down their oil stock tanks before the weather hit

Abbott prioritized gas to homes, that coupled with green going down simultaneously plus a host of other factors added up to this huge shortfall. if abbott prioritized gas to energy, we would have had less of an energy shortfall across the state but a lot more people freezing to death in their homes

I post on a message board. Should I have the answers that our state apparently doesn’t?

Does the national guard not have mobile generators to create shelters? Has this been done and no ones talking about it?

I am not sure... I would expect the NG would have generators.

I have seen numerous warming shelters that have been opened across this part of the state - some locations have even staged running school busses that have the heat on. These seem to have been done at the local level.

I suppose I assumed a true shelter would be located at a place on a critical grid that would not require a generator.

You think because I pass through some nursing homes periodically that I'm an an administrator? I pass through hospitals and courtrooms too. Do I administrate in those as well?

Dude, you are an idiot and a pussy. Blame Abbott but then can’t articulate why.

I already said why

Millions out of power days after snow last fell
No water

Rolling blackouts until Saturday likely.

Abbott is the Governor so he is responsible but this event is hardly something he or his office could have prevented or done much to mitigate

the fact that nuclear is not a prominent part of the green energy movement is the biggest problem. existing renewables are very vulnerable to weather, there is only so much one can do if 20% of the supply side goes down in a short period

honestly we can bitch more about rick perry and his windmill buddies, than abbott

Anyone can’t just post the effects, but that’s not the why. I’ve told you why power couldn’t be met but like a typical smug pi attorney you tried to twist out from under that with personal attacks and bullshite questions.

Can you tell me with specificity how much Tx energy is prod from natty gas? And if that was frozen in the ground, so to speak, what might be the impact? Did they teach you how to use google in law school?

You're convinced I'm a nursing home administrator aren't you? Because I passed through some facilities during the height of covid? I also mentioned how early nola hospitals jumped on hcq. Am I a hospital admim?

They just call shite unprecedented or “historical” so they can avoid blame.
