Congress deserves a portion of the blame because they have subsidized windmills to the extent gas/coal gen sets were no longer economical and permanently shutdown. the coal/oil generators had the reserve fire up capability to cover unplanned outages.
line man this evening told me the power grid is currently planned to operate at 90% of capacity. Back in the 1975 period they operated at 65%

In your opinion, should ERCOT plan and take precautions for Canadian winter and spend the money to “winterize”? Given of course that this is just a 500 year event, and likely to not happen again... or would you repeat the same mistakes after the 2011 study?

the fact that nuclear is not a prominent part
Do you really fricking believe Abbott has any material say so with regard to nuclear energy??
And do you think Tx owns the windmills? Do you think anyone wanted the added cost of Canada wnterization?
Why stop there should he have added refs for bat gas prod winterization since that’s over 50% of supply that had a significant chunk shut in?
Do you know anything about these subjects or are you just going with the idiots blaming green energy because you’re really just a partisan hack?

Where do I begin? Your premise. Your reliance on natural gas or its prices. All nonsense.

Be specific...no one can respond to this type of post. Where am I wrong in stating Nat gas was mostly shut in? 50+% of energy gen basically. Do you have contrary facts?

Look at your premise - the prices aren’t even accurate. At least get that right.

didnt say anything about abbott and green energy. the environmentalists have regulated nuclear out of the picture and made it economically unviable for a reason. this is way beyond a governor
I know who owns the windmills, didnt say anything about texas owning them. I have been out there in NM and WT too many times to count.
I dont know what you are talking about, you seem really angry and confused. green energy is fine, it is vulnerable to weather and it should include nuclear as an option. the reason it doesnt is purely political BS
I gave you a nice writeup on O&G winterization from someone who has a professional interest in it as well as three decades of experience. where does the partisan hack piece come in?

will be interesting to see what happens when the consumer gas bills get sent out, I expect some sort of govt intervention on pricing otherwise our home use gas bills are going to sky rocket
I have been running my gas fireplace 24hrs for three days
