I think you are grossly underestimating the stupidity of the average NPC (Non Playing Character) of the Democratic Party.

When discussing the events of January 6th with a college educated, white collar professional, they mentioned Trump told everyone to go riot. I said “I read the transcript of his speech and watched the video, he said nothing of the sort”. This guy, without batting an eye said “well, he said it in code”.

I started laughing. I said “I’m as conservative as it gets and I didn’t get a copy of the book to decode these code words you mention, what gives”?

This guy couldn’t be dissuaded from that ridiculous notion. At that point I realized that logic and reason had very little to do with his beliefs. He was programmed by the media to believe a certain way and nothing was going to change that.

Think about the book 1984. Remember the “Goldberg” character and the “Two minutes hate” people participated in? Trump IS the modern day Goldberg. Democrats participate in “two minutes hate” every time he’s mentioned in the news. That’s why Trump is still at the forefront of the news cycle. They need to rile up the “proles”.

So yes, they are that stupid. The media is creating a “boogie man” and Trump is the chief Boogie man. Ultra MAGA republicans are the lesser “boogie men” and must be thwarted by the good and virtuous rank and file democrat.

What 99% of America was post WWII; a God-based Constitutional Republic. And a VERY unique time in the annals of history and the greatest degree of true freedom from 'government' laws that mankind has ever known. A neat but fleeting experiment as the historical record indicates that human society has always been based on a form of 'coerced' sharing of the fruits of an individual's labors.

Given AI, Humanities' future will be micro-managed to a degree only imagined in Biblical Prophecy (Secular Humanist World Government). We'll see if said prophecy is right re the outcome of such a grand enterprise as " a government that can give everything, can take everything" as well. Will be fireworks no matter what in that respect. Albeit it's all about Spiritual Vision and how people feel about their life, and it's likely that the common hunter-gatherer and their family was far happier than the common laborer of today's culture.
