"We've done Excellent work what is Very Great, Tremendous, Fantastic, Highly respected, on a new super wonderful highly innovative testing strategy"

Seriously though, good for the Prez. First Presidential thing I've seen him do in a while. I hope it works. Thank God he has Fauci on board.

I would wager that the cost to contract CONVID testing turn-key, kits, labor, reporting etc to CVS, Wal-Greens and Wal-mart on a unit price schedule, will cost less and have better reporting data, faster, than issuing the (Insert your County/Parrish here) Health Department an emergency federal grant to perform the same task.

Of course it is

From the beginning of Trump’s press conference to after its conclusion the market rose over 900 points.

Great, confidence-inspiring speech and press conference.

Dumping ~$50B into the states for testing and eventual vaccines.
No expense spared to treat this

Partnered with CVS, Target, Walmart & Walgreens to provide drive-through testing. They will set aside room in their parking lots for this.

Possibly the best possible thing to come out today. You can't overstate how much this expands access to testing. Also serves to harness American private business in a time of emergency... like he's said before, we're the best country. Take advantage of that.

Google is setting up a website for people to check the status of their tests.

Smart move on many levels. I have zero doubt Google will create a better webpage faster than the government. I also wonder if this helps to bring Google into the fold, at least temporarily.

All student loan interest will be waived until further notice.

Bone for everyone, students especially. I wonder if that also affects my old loans I'm still paying on. Great if it does.

Purchasing large quantities of crude oil for the strategic reserves.

Outside of the virus, but a very positive inclusion. It's like filling up the car when the prices are low at the station... the general public will identify with that analogy.

The market jumped over 1k points in the last 25 minutes over this.

He laid out in detail what steps the US is taking, and why. He demonstrated competence in the face of a potentially shaky situation. Removed a lot of the uncertainty of the past several days.

Big business about to get billions in direct federal funding.

Yeah, they are just writing them a check.

Dumbass, they are stepping up when our country needs them and you are concerned with who gets money?

Trump just hit a grand slam

He made a swipe at the ACA site shitfest, something about "it will be done a lot more cheaply and faster than the last one".

Why are mom and pop pharmacies excluded from this?

Many mom and pop stores are smart enough to talk to the local Walmart, CVS, Target, and Walgreens to set up a contract to handle the inevitable overflow of customers.

It's the efficiency of a private market.

It is about time that you STFU. No matter what this administration does you will act like a 12 year bitch on her first period.

I don't understand why these media folk, who are so important and above everything, act like kindergartners saying "ooooo me me!" at these damn press conferences. They call Trump childish but act like somebody brought out a tray of lollipops as soon as he walks up to the podium. You know these were the try hards in every class that tried to argue with the professor on everything and usually got stomped

So let me get this straight... You think Trump is incompetent, you think his response is a disaster, yet you’d rather he left the ENTIRE response to the federal government he runs? The same federal government who sucks shite at administering healthcare are always has?

Solid logic.

I am looking for someone to give me the rundown on how Biden would have conducted that press conference and gotten all that together like Trump did today. You are a good candidate since you are voting for him.
