they will never get Trump's undying support he gets from the evangelicals. they will tell you they didn't vote for a preacher.
Posted on 4/7/19 at 6:27 pm to Carl Kolchak
How could he expect evangelicals to vote pro abortion?
Posted on 4/7/19 at 6:37 pm to Carl Kolchak
If only those Christians would vote for the party that supports post-birth abortions, then they'd be morally correct, right?

Christians didn't elect Trump to teach Sunday School, or even be a role model for their children. They chose Him to DEFEND Religious/Constitutional Freedom from Democratic Authoritarian Socialist out to "fundamentally change this Nation".
If this *Trump* don't do the job...wait till Idealist dupes like Buttigieg see the next *Trump*. He won't be pandering for votes; He'll be mean.

Exactly. Someone else said it simply: you don't have to be good person to be a great president.

I love it when progressives start trying to tell Christians what to think. It shows just how clueless they are.

It is not for man to decide which vessel the Lord chooses to do his good works.

Wait ! An insufferable Progressive Moralizer ?
That’s new and different.

Here, you have somebody who not only acts in a way that is not consistent with anything that I hear in scripture or in church, where it's about lifting up the least among us and taking care of strangers, which is another word for immigrants.
It's dishonest to say he was talking about immigration. You should treat people fairly, but if they break the law then the proper authorities have to address it.

And making sure that you're focusing your effort on the poor. But also personally, how you're supposed to conduct yourself. Not chest thumping look-at-me-ism, but humbling yourself before others. Foot washing is one of the central images in the New Testament.

And we see the diametric opposite of that in this presidency. I think there was perhaps a cynical process where he decided to, for example, begin to pretend to be pro-life and govern accordingly.
Pro-life is the correct stance to take. The issue is whether you want to deal with the consequences.
A misconception amongst conservatives is that if you ban something, it will force people to behave in a way that you want (and vicariously be politically advantageous to the upper class).
In truth, all it does is redirect the problem. For abortion, this leads to more illegal procedures and more children in foster homes and/or some form of government welfare.
I would argue that technically this is better than abortion, but the population would have to acknowledge that they are effectively financing "anti-abortion"

Buttigieg. Roots: “butt” - “gig”
Yep. Checks out perfect.

Ok, what trump did was wrong. And ultimately between him, his family, and God.
But to compare the sin that trump did to the sin of homosexuality is stupid. It literally says in the Bible that homosexuality is not only a sin, but is an abomination. There’s a clear distinction.

I do more for the poor than any politician. I pay an assload of taxes and support world-wide capitalism.

Christians will be outlawed under leftist ideology.
This is just silly.
Look, I get that TigerDroppings is a right wing outreach project to indoctrinate college aged people in right wing ideology by providing constant group reinforcement and shouting down all contrary ideas, but this kind of silly stuff is outside of rational thinking.

As silly as wondering why Christians don’t support the party of abortion and policies that increase poverty?

Belief is the basis for action. Tell me that Progressives don't see much in the Bible as 'hate speech'.

See, I don't look to Trump as a beacon of how I should live my personal life. He isn't my guide for my faith or my morals. But, I did not vote for him so that he could be that. I voted for him because of policy, because I believe he will make/has made the U.S. stronger when it comes to foreign policy, immigration, and the economy.
Also, just because Trump may not be a devout Christian and has not lived a Christian lifestyle does not mean that he doesn't support policies that Christians like. He has generally been a friend to Christians in how he governs and the policies he supports. In terms of policy, Christians are much more in line with Trump than any of the current Democratic Presidential candidates.
