This started in the US in the 50s. Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
They did an experiment on a boy that lost his penis and raised him as a girl to prove the theory that gender was learned and not biological. Well that boy killed himself in his 30s. And of course they lied about it and said it was a complete success.
