Chaos exploded overnight in Lochiel as masked activists who’ve blocked border-wall construction since 27 July finally clashed with authorities.
A centuries-old “grandmother” cottonwood was brought down by contractors after Border Patrol moved in. Frontlines reports the standoff turned violent: a manager was assaulted, his Meta glasses smashed, and two vehicle tyres slashed as protesters resisted the clearing.
Multiple arrests have already been made while the confrontation continues. The situation is still developing. ??????

Folks down south would consider it one, but it’s about the only real tree that can live in the valleys out west that only see water during snow melt season. Without Cottonwoods there would be almost no decent sized trees in a lot of valleys.
