Should I feel bad for not feeling bad?

You just can't shoot someone w/o the presence of that threat (weapon) or officer in danger of being struck by vehicle/pulled away while being partially in vehicle.
Don't think you're right on this.
Someone with a warrant for a weapons charge who is actively resisting and reaching in a vehicle is a clean shoot IMO.

Exactly. This is the fundamental problem with women on the police force. Police work ultimately means forcing compliance from the non-compliant, and this often comes down to physical force. If you are a dainty middle aged woman demanding a 300lb buck to lay down and he just laughs you off, what is your move? Weapons. Ironically, it makes law enforcement more lethal to have women.

Tazers are not sufficient for stopping this kind of threat.
Interesting alternate reality hypo: she didn’t scream “taser taser taser” and instead shot him while he was fighting and reaching for the unknown in his vehicle. In both scenarios, he’s doing the same thing and gets killed. Only one scenario makes her look undertrained and negligent.

Yeah if she just kept her mouth shut and shot him, she would actually probably be in a better spot.
Unironically

I was thinking the same thing. She was waving that all around while the other officer was between her and the perp.
Shame that so many are so stupid. Kid, just take the ticket and maybe a little jail time. If you have a warrant, why the hell are you driving with expired tags. Jesus.

female officer pulled weapon instead of tazer
He should've complied and she should've never been allowed to be a cop

She fricked up by using the wrong equipment (e.g. service pistol versus taser). She absolutely should be held accountable for that.
Agree. Resisting arrest isn't a death sentence. We have to many laws and poorly trained police forces armed to the teeth. It's a recipe for disaster

You are guessing about reaching into the vehicle. He did get back in and try to escape. If it were a one on one you def. pull your weapon b/c it could escalate to deadly force in a half second. The fact that there were 3 officers the deployment of the tazer was the right call. Problem was she was not up to the task.

Shouting taser repeatedly while doing it kinda fricks up that defense.

The sad thing is, she has more chance of facing serious criminal repercussions than the people responsible for putting her in that position.
