Can you clarify on Utah and Idaho? I used to have Denver on my "could/should move to" list, a decade ago, but scratched that off after finding how much I preferred Salt Lake City. I was in SLC a year ago, and I still had it on my list.

THis has been happening for a while. Obama carried the state handily both times......A lot of college students who could not get into the CA schools like Cal and UCLA, etc started going to UC Boulder and then stayed starting in the early 90's

You can rest assured that the Dem voters will get exactly what they deserve, but will not like it.
On that note, this football season in Austin, I've seen quite a few Colorado license plates speeding around. Very disheartening.
I remember going to a UT football game in Boulder in the early 90s, and the people tailgating were complaining about the California locusts. They admitted they were raised to hate Texans, but allowed that Texans were the salt of the earth compared to California scum.

There's a huge population of Mexicans in Meridian and Caldwell, too. The libification of Idaho has a ways to go though. I think only three counties vote blue consistently - Latah (Tri Cities), Blaine (Sun Valley) and Teton. Ada is purple at this point which sucks, but I don't know if that is enough to turn Idaho blue in the next few decades.
