The former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg upended the 2020 Presidential race on Friday by offering Donald J. Trump ten billion dollars to leave the White House by the end of the day.

“I will deposit ten billion dollars into your account in Moscow, Riyadh, or wherever you do your banking these days,” Bloomberg announced. “All you have to do is go.”

In addition to the ten-billion-dollar offer, Bloomberg told Trump that he would cover the moving expenses of Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Kellyanne Conway, and any other associates “that you haven’t already gotten rid of.”

In other words, Goonberg knows he can't beat MAGA.

Wouldn’t Trump’s refusal to take this offer pretty much serve as proof that his desire to be POTUS isn’t driven by financial/business self-interest?

Ok, I opened the link so I guess this is not a farce. What a fricken stupid thing to say and offer. This is the kind of comment that is more appropriate being said on Stephen Colbert. So Bloomberg is another nearly 80 year old I'd like to see infarct out if you know what I mean.

So. He chose to prove that Trump isn't in fact just in office to enrich himself?

LOL

Dammit. Another satire link I didn't open

Isn't comedy supposed to be funny? Perhaps in this case though, the term is a reference to the dramatic genre, as in a Dante poetic narrative?

Who wouldn’t take that offer, all millionaires and most billionaires. He’s not doing this for the money. He cares about the country. The presidency is probably hurting him financially.

Wouldn’t this constitute a bribe of a gov official given the rules around offering gifts and ethics guidelines?

ETA: if this wasn’t satire.

If he can shell out 10B as a bribe to Trump why doesn't he give that 10B to his city for improvements instead.

Lock him up for attempted bribery.

Oh well, only read the thread title and responded. It seems absolutely believable that it could happen.

In other news, Michael Bloomberg commits an overt act of attempted bribery of a federal official.
