Billy Bob Thornton has displeased the harpies of The View

Apparently he was on a podcast recently and told the interviewer that he doesn’t lecture his audience on politics because A), it isn’t his job, and B), his opinion is no more important than anyone elses. Eminently sensible, right?
Enter seething harpies.
The View made a point of calling Billy out on this, basically branding him a coward and a betrayer of Muh Dumock-ra-cee.
Joyless Behar in particular said “Why would you trumpet how ignorant you are like that?”, while Sunny Hostin lectured Thornton In Absentia on his responsibility to join and become one with the Hivemind of Hollywood.

Meh, typical media exaggeration in the headline of that Breitbart article.
I totally agree with Billy Bob Thornton on the specific statements he made in that clip of the podcast. That stated, the ladies on the view didn’t “ERUPT” on him.
This is not news. But that’s just my opinion, which is no better than yours or anyone else’s.

The fact that 90% of those Hollywood clowns say the same exact thing should tell everybody that Hollywood is nothing but one more component of the corrupt system.

Of course. But I don’t think they are questioning his right to remain silent on the subject. I think that they are questioning whether or not he has the responsibility to speak out on the subject based on his platform.
Those are two different ideas.
I wish people with power and / or influence who aren’t politically savvy would choose less to utilize their power and influence when it comes to political issues.

He’s always been left-leaning but I’ve never seen him go out of his way to trash a conservative politician. He’s nothing but class and is always willing to talk to fans.
