He runs a show for entertainment. Of course he's going to have contrary opinions (to himself). He wants ratings. You can't take people like him seriously. He says he's politically incorrect and then shills for progs when a Democrat is in office and then becomes a mainstream Dem when someone like Trump is in office. Not a surprise.

Maher makes some points that are counter to the prevailing left wing talking points and attitudes. That's a good thing. You need people that aren't on the right championing conservative views. You know why that is? Because the right wing sucks terribly at messaging.
Agreeing with some things that Maher says doesn't make you a rino. It makes you a reasonable person that realizes support is needed from the opposition.

Maher is a Democrat, no doubt. But he's been trying to beat the drum to his party on why they face an over 9 point swing from positive to negative heading into mid-terms.
