95% of all gun crimes are committed by democrats.
99% of all gun crimes are committed in democrat voting counties.
This does nothing.

A figment of the gun grabbers imaginations.
The only way to get a gun without a background check is private party. For example, you and I are at the range and you see my SR-15 and really like it and offer me a great price. I can in theory sell it to you on the spot, however if you go shoot up a school with it afterwards I’m in deep shite.
I have sold guns private party to people I know but it’s usually people I’ve known a long time.
If I sell you a gun on gun broker and ship it the gun goes FFL to FFL and you get a background check on the other end.

it’s blatantly unconstitutional for a president to use EOs for gun control.
Is this an EO?

me either but apparently its 2 consenting adults who happen to be in the same place at the same time; one agreeing to buy and one agreeing to sell a firearm.
you know, normal shite except the dems can't handle the lack of control of knowing exactly what everyone has in their basement.
hmm, i cant IMAGINE why they want to inventory firearms. i guess there are so many gun owner collections jumping out of basements into THUG hands.

Yes if you are purchasing from a dealer. No gun show I have ever attended is letting private individuals rent a booth to sell their personal collection which is what this aims to stop.
no, its individual sales between 2 adults that just so happen to be walking around the same building at the same time.
government needs to mind their damn business.

Wonder if this applies to black powder firearms or relics?

I have bought one at a gun show from a licensed dealer and had to go through all of the normal background checks to buy it.
The whole point of the term is to make people think you can go to a gun show, buy any gun from any seller whether a licensed dealer or a private seller, and no background checks are required. Implying it is a free-for-all for criminals to get all the guns they want without issue.
As already stated by other posters, the "loophole" only applies to private sales and isn't a gun show loophole because obviously, a private sale can take place anywhere at any time. They can require background checks for private sales but it is impossible to enforce it so it is pointless.

Individual to individual gun sales don't require 4473s or background checks (in most states)
The vast majority of gun show sales are by dealers and utilize background checks
The gun show loophole isn't real, and it's the fantasy that the country is filled with people selling guns for profit without licensure/background checks
I'm amazed that term "gun-show loophole" triggers so many Dems to donate to Democrats and get off the couch and vote.

I purchased a stainless Walther PPK 380 from a friend just like this.

I wish someone would release the percentages of crimes which are committed using legally purchased firearms.

I've never understood the concept of being a passionate advocate against something you know so little about, and moreover, so much of what you claim to know is false (and easily identified as false with minimal effort).
I'll read something in passing and go spend 30 minutes figuring out some context for it. Democrats go decades without doing this on firearms while speaking boldly about them, it's just amazing.

It's definitely a term that triggers emotional reactions from ignorants on the Left, but the scenario of a private seller showing up at a gun show and selling guns without using an FFL/background check does happen.
Like I said, this is exactly what that baw in Arkansas was doing
sorry, and to clarify it wasn't the facts of the indictment, it was the warrant affidavit
Local news article summary
quote:
Undercover federal agents purchased another three from Malinowski at central Arkansas gun shows, the affidavit stated.
According to the affidavit, Malinowski would purchase guns through legal means, checking off a box on the purchase form that he was buying the gun for himself. He would then resell the just-purchased guns in as little as 24 hours through gun shows where he maintained a table or through private sales.

Depends on where it is and who is organizing it.
I recently went to a gun show that allowed private sellers to rent booth space. Those are the booths everyone went to first and the dealers weren't happy about that.
To my knowledge this is a recent development. This was the first gun show I'd been to or heard of that allowed private sellers to rent a booth.
Not advocating for this legislation. It's an obvious overreach designed to eliminate private sales and get everyone on a list.
Tyrants love lists.

NRA puts them in hives, despite the fact that the NRA is benign and the only power it holds is the sheer number of members.
