The Galleria Mall is just one of most every mall's fall from grace across the country.
Not sure you can pin the Galleria on section 8 housing infusion.
However, I can tell you for a fact that there are areas in Tuscaloosa that have been decimated by section 8 housing that was placed in those areas. Part was the Obama administration pushing it, part was the relocation of many that lost homes in areas like Alberta City and Holt after the 2011 tornado.

Infuriating that the federal government is so involved with social engineering. Our founding fathers would be horrified.

Works for me. Suburbs voted for the old fool, now they can live with that choice.

It’s not just black families. It’s a work ethic vs lazy problem.

I live in a very racially diverse suburb. Almost Every family here are dual parent working households. Many of us are first generation or one generation removed from poverty. My parents grew up separately with nothing, but they worked their asses off to better themselves, they got married, they sacrificed to give me opportunities, and I will continue to work my arse off and sacrifice to leave my children a better life.

America is the most class fluid and opportunistic country in human history. Incomparable and inarguable. We also have absolutely no understanding at all of poverty or hardship in 2021 America. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong on that statement.

Being poor in America means you have guaranteed access to housing, food, education, clothing, healthcare, jobs, phones, internet, and free weekly checks from the government and you have the ability to vote and if all of that isn’t enough you also have the ability to pull yourself out of that “poverty.”

That’s the reality of poverty in America in 2021. We do more monetarily and opportunity-wise for poor people in this country than anyone ever in history. And everyday all the media screams 24/7 is that Americans don’t care and don’t give enough.

Poverty in some countries in Africa or the Middle East or Asia means you watch your child starve to death or be sold into slavery and then you starve to death also or die of a treatable infection of disease with no access to care in your late 20s or 30s.

We are so unbelievably absorbed into our media bubble and our own little world we have completely lost all perspective and it scares me.

Biden hasn’t even been in office a year and he’s running up 10 trillion dollars in debt and inflation and now trying to lay the seeds for Soviet block style housing and destruction of small and private businesses.

All the while continuing to demonize and villainize hard work and integrity and replace it with apathy and moral relativism.

I don’t even know where we go from here short of divorce or Revolution.

When hard work, free thought, liberty, and morality are all simultaneously under attack at the same time by an oppressive and corrupt ruling class what option are left to the disenfranchised and overworked citizens? This country was founded on the principles of individual liberty, restrained government, local and state politics, and no taxation without representation. Every single one of those principles is currently under direct and targeted attack.

Your suburb is undesirable and not likely as much a suburb as you think.

Actually this could blow up in their faces. Democrats exist because many never feel the pain of their programs. If suddenly their safe spaces are infiltrated by an unsavory element...well then.

Can the federal government control zoning with local municipalities?

This is why at the local level you have to vote and care about elections. Our local reps have passed many protective codes to ensure development cannot and will not happen. Moving forward no one can even develop a subdivision unless it’s one house per 5ac parcel of land. Luckily we also have a shite ton of colluvial soil in our area which doesn’t allow for development anyways.

Red states separate and form a new nation. DC and the blue states can have each other.

“A rising tide lifts all boats.”

A falling tide will make everyone except our “leaders” equally miserable, which is exactly what liberals want.

Sure there was an element of this but Biden was voted in through a bunch of fraud...please don’t let this point sneak past you.

They can withhold federal money to the state to exert pressure.

Biden was hard pressed to get 30 million votes. Not only did they want Trump to not win but didn't want Biden to get embarrassed with the real numbers.

Much like there isn't a federal drinking age law , but the Feds told the States if you have a drinking age less than 21, you get no highway funds.
