Looked like he was using those straps that keep your feet connected to the pedals… those things are dangerous, I had a aunt who broke both her arms when she fell off her bike, I always thought they were really fricked up to use, but was told people who race use them I still just don’t see the advantage.

Those pedal clips are dangerous especially for him. He's not a racer he doesn't need them. All he had to do was keep his weight to his left and work his right foot free but you could see how unsteady he was and he isn't coordinated enough.
