1- that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

2- It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.

Luke 17:2

I think these 2 things honored would solve a very large portion of our problems.

Yeah it never made sense to me why Jesus fed the multitudes (twice even!). It just encouraged them to depend on handouts.

Tyson James - Millstone (God's children are not for sale) preaching the same thing

ETA: wow, who knew that "pedo" is a dangerous word on youtube that they would need to bleep it out in order to not have the video shadowbanned.

Yikes, are you suggesting that we follow all Biblical suggestions?

Luke 12:33-34
"Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"

Matthew 19:21-24
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me"

Romans 15:7 "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God".

Leviticus 19:34
"The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt"

Sure, why not?

Sure, why not? I give to charities and support others doing so. We also support the legal acceptance of refugees that go through the proper vetting process. You leftist idiots seem to not recognize any of this, because it undermines your stupid accusations against conservatives. Hey, do you know which political leaning people give more to charity than others? Conservatives.

Gotta love people who know nothing about the bible throwing around quotes as gotchas. Yall are the best!

One interpretation of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes is that Jesus actually did NOT duplicate anything. When the kid came up and shared what meager food he had, Jesus blessed it and began distributing it. The people who showed up just hoping for a free lunch felt ashamed after watching that kid give away what little he had. Basically, everyone in the crowd freely shared with each other the food they brought with them, and there was more than enough for everyone. The miracle wasn’t that Jesus used magic to create a bunch of food out of thin air, but that he was able to convince a massive crowd to all voluntarily share with one-another everything they had.

The miracles were done to testify to His authority. He wasn't feeding them to provide a welfare state. In fact, in John 6, after feeding the multitude, they came back looking for more "signs" and He criticized them for looking for more food instead of the spiritual food of salvation that He provides. They walked away disappointed when they realized He was their savior rather than their chef.

Agreed. Old people, the infirm, and kids can fend for themselves. Can’t put in the work? Too bad, have fun starving until you learn how.

Where was that in the text?

I wonder if the Bible addressed this knowing some retard was going to say something stupid in the future.

The church has helped many people over the years.

Perhaps you would help those in need as well…

I like these better.

Exodus 22:29-30
quote:

“You shall not delay to offer from the fullness of your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to me. You shall do the same with your oxen and with your sheep: seven days it shall be with its mother; on the eighth day you shall give it to me.

So just like the sacrifices of the firstborn goats, cattle, and chickens, also sacrifice your firstborn sons. Got it.

Exodus 22:20
quote:

“Whoever sacrifices to any god, other than the LORD alone, shall be devoted to destruction.

Wait, so you’re telling me there are actually other gods???

Leviticus 11:9
quote:

“These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat.

Quit eating crawfish, shrimp, oysters, and catfish.

Leviticus 20:15
quote:

If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.

If an animal is raped by a man, not only must you kill the man, but also the innocent animal. The LORD commandeth!

Deuteronomy 22:29
quote:

then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days.

For any man who rapes an unmarried woman, the woman must spend the rest of her like with her rapist. Nice!

Numbers 5:11-31
quote:

27And when he has made her drink the (poisoned) water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh (unborn baby) shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

If a man suspects a wife has become pregnant through adultery, he can take her to a priest and they will force her to drink poisoned water. If the baby lives, she was innocent. If the baby dies, she was guilty. Makes a lot of sense!

Ain’t the objective morality of the Bible just great?
