Senate passed a bipartisan bill called Renewing Opportunity in the American Dream(Road) in July. The inept House did nothing

As the bill currently stands, it would be the most impactful and comprehensive piece of housing legislation since the Great Recession.

That doesn't mean there won't ever be any complaining...people will complain about Epstein, for example. But that's all they'll do.

What else can I do? Trump is in office. He is in his last term... what is there for a MAGA voter to do?

Universal zoning code is a terrible idea, shorten the path to approvals with a shot clock. This is government over reach at its best. It would be a shite show to implement and raise prices in the process. You would have to create a federal bureaucracy around this idea...BAD IDEA

D.R. Horton will be appointed Housing Tzar.

No thanks. I like my city's moratorium against apartment complexes.

This "We want Trump's admin to propose/support literal leftism so that the DEMs come out against it when it's popular" is quite the strategy.
It's almost as if populism is more closely linked to leftism/bigger government than conservatism and smaller government.
ETA: Major then/than typo. I feel like McNulty

Technically that’s still government intervention. This is where I agree with you though. I’m not a libertarian.

Keep deporting illegals. Opens up housing for citizens.
Demand goes down, prices go down.

Does anyone discuss the cause of the housing crisis and almost all other crises?

What's your job with D.R. Horton?
I dont work for that trash and DR Horton would LOVVVE buyer subsidies. The last thing they want is quality homes being built as their competition

The Federal Gov should not be involved in state zoning. Obama did that and tried to force new developments to commit a portion to low-income housing. It's how you get a new development to have a 10-year maximum shelf life. Very stupid. Leave it up to municipalities.
Trump should look at hedge funds buying/building thousands of SFHs for rentals. Let them stick to multi-family
He should also seek to roll back some regulations that are already in the feds wheelhouse and affect pricing. Most notably, the EPA.
One big one is new HVAC have a 10-year life due to the high-pressure freon they use now. Roll us back to R22, which was cheap and units lasted for decades. New units are $10K plus installed. Not everyone can afford that every 10 years. The new coils in them are all aluminum. They did away with all of the copper. A mixture of aluminum and high-pressure freon means the coils leak and wear out a lot faster. They are a nightmare
In short, there is a lot Trump could do without picking winners and losers such as subsidizing building materials

So with the bail/CJ issue, voting, and now this, can we finally admit that Trump/MAGA are opponents of states rights? What else will it take?
Are you still pretending to want what is best for America?

and even granting tariff exemptions for construction materials.
How would eliminating tarrifs lower costs? Genuinely curious because I have been told that they actually lower costs, Trump should mandate that these massive cost savings, all caused by tariffs, are passed on to the consumer. Or, even better yet, he should raise tarrifs to generate even more savings.

Are you pretending that eroding states rights and promoting a leviathan federal government ruled by EOs is what's best for America?

Encourage more gentrification. We have a ton of "zombie houses" in this country that no one wants to touch. HUD could do more to encourage rehabbing these houses and neighborhoods. Opportunity zones help, but still fall short

Need to start deporting illegals. Will free up inventory and make us safer.
