Bernie wants Americans to own 50% of the largest AI companies in America

By "Americans" he means democrats.

I dont know Bernie’s reasons, but there needs to be some compensation to those who produced the training data.

My sibling is a finance writer and that industry has been completely wrecked by AI.

Its a lot more insidious under the surface… LLM’s scrape all of their copywrited content, “train on it”, regurgitate it back to readers who would’ve gone to the human articles/content otherwise. It is literal IP theft and there are no laws to hold it accountable. AI owners make billions off content they didnt create, and the content producers get unemployed.

You want to train on my data… you must buy it from me.

They fed it pretty much every piece of human knowledge. Ergo, everyone should be compensated for it.

It's a public utility. Same could be said about the internet.

So giving us stake in AI companies is somehow a bad thing now?
